The space This early 2000's build, a generous oversized 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom and open plan kitchen, dining & lounge space with front & back courtyards, is the perfect launching and landing pad for a stay in the inner north. With the perks and quirks of an older build, this space is comfortable and easy to spend time in. Welcome! So, the apartment: The kitchen is well equipped for cooking with a stove, oven, fridge-freezer, microwave and the kitchen essentials. The kitchen overlooks the dining space and lounge. The lounge then opens up further onto the north facing sun drenched court yard via large glass sliding doors. This courtyard is situated right on the busy & bustling Brunswick Rd. The bedroom sits at the back of the apartment, protecting it further from the noise and traffic which settles overnight. The queen bed looks out over the back courtyard, a great place to sit with a hot drink or wine. This courtyard is yours to enjoy. The bathroom has a shower-over-bath setup, a toilet and vanity. Towels and linen are provided. There is a washing machine, an iron & a small iron-board in the hallway cupboard for your convenience. We do not have a dryer, but there is a clothes rack beside the fridge for you to use. The cross ventilation design of the apartment, allows for air to pass through, cooling the space during the hotter months. There is a reverse cycle (heater/cooler) system in the kitchen and open plan living space. The bedroom has a portable fan and heater should you require them. There is a TV with free-to-air and a ChromeCast which you are able to cast from your own device onto the TV (eg. Spotify, Netflix, Youtube). The building's block backs onto the Capital City Trail, which leads you into Princes Park & Royal Park one way and Merri Creek the other direction. You are spoilt for choice with plenty of paths & trails for a stroll or a run. There is a small independent corner store a 2 minute walk away to pick up the essentials. Approximately 5-10 minute walk is Barkly Square Shopping Centre with two bigger supermarkets, a green grocer, a butcher, K-mart ect. And good Melbourne coffee is in every direction from the apartment. Lygon St North, Brunswick East is a 5 minute walk away with great eateries, bars, good coffee and bakeries. Slightly further afield (15-40min walk) you can get to Sydney Road in Brunswick, Rathdowne St in Carlton North & St Georges Rd in Fitzroy North. A 5-10 min tram ride south will find you in Lygon St Carlton. This apartment is situated a 2 min walk from the Number 1 & Number 6 Tramline which takes you straight down Lygon St into the city. There are also E-bikes that can be hired via the corresponding app 1 block away. The airport is approx 30-45mins away via a taxi or ride-share depending on traffic. There is unfortunately NO parking space with this booking. There is on-street parking BUT it is time limited and your car needs to be moved regularly. This should be considered before booking.
