The Wool Barn: cosy yet spacious, family-friendly

The Wool Barn is a spacious + newly renovated property in a secluded yet central position in Moretonhampstead. An L shaped barn conversion, you’ll find lovely cottage style bedrooms & large living room on one side and on the other, a stunning vaulted space, which is home to the contemporary kitchen, dining room & a special reading nook/work space/4th sleep space on a mezzanine level. This family, group & pet-friendly place with its unique layout creates a lovely sense of both space & seclusion. The space The property is a conversion of c.300 year old barn. It is in very close proximity to the centre of the little town but in a secluded position, being reached via a little lane. My sister and I grew up here and this house has been a labour of love for us, keeping our roots while also offering other people the chance to enjoy the wonderful town Moreton and the beautiful surrounding area. With flexible sleeping arrangements the house is suitable for families, mixed family groups, couples and groups of individuals such as cyclists and walkers It is child and pet-friendly with stair gates (except for at the bottom of the main stairs), a large travel cot, high chair, children’s cutlery, bowls and plates, children’s toys and books, and toddler steps and training seats in each bathroom. The front garden/courtyard is enclosed making it perfect for both children and dogs and there is plenty of space to keep bikes etc. Due to the unique layout and space in the house, it is possible to be in the house with children, pets and/or different family groups/couples/individuals and still feel like everyone has a space to be without feeling on top of one another! There three bedrooms; one super king which can be made into a twin or triple room, one single with a full single and a solid trundle bed underneath with its own storage built in for clothes etc (this bed is on castors so can be moved to the king room to make the triple); and the fourth sleeping space is the mezzanine level in the vaulted part of the house. This has a double sofa bed. There is also a travel cot and an additional cot bed mattress if you have babies/toddlers with you. There are two bathrooms; one upstairs with a full bath and overhead shower and one downstairs with a walk in shower. There is a reading nook (situated on the mezzanine level) with its own mini library as well as board games and a smart TV with in built apps such as Netflix, Prime Video, BBC iPlayer etc in the living room. There is a wood burner in the living room and gas central heating throughout to ensure the house is nice and warm whatever time of the year you stay. Guest access Entire home. Other things to note The house is located in the centre of town up a little lane and access is pedestrian. It is often possible to park at the end of the lane or in the ‘square’ (the centre of the town which is 1 minute from the house) to unload for an hr. There is long term parking available close by - please see the ‘getting there’ section. There are other family properties in close proximity to the house and young children across the lane. We therefore ask that noise levels are kept respectful and that the quiet hours are adhered to. If you bring a dog with you, please do not leave it alone in the property. As children are often playing close by, we also must stipulate that only dogs that are not aggressive can be brought along for the stay. We thank you for your understanding.
