This place is perfect for a small family to get their feet wet on the area. The space This 1 bdrm/1 bath apartment can accommodate 4 adult guests. The bedroom has a queen-sized bed, dresser, and closet. The bathroom is brand new and has a walk-in shower. The living area has a bar style eating area for 4 with smart TV and a sofabed that sleeps 2 (450 lb max). There is also a futon that can fold out and fit one-split the kids up if you desire they'll thank you for it! Bed linens and pillows are available for all beds. The kitchen is full sized and has all standard amenities. You can also enjoy your meals outside on the patio with a view of the yard. Bonus feature includes a coffee bar to start your day! The apartment is part of a 4 bedroom house that has been in the family for 30 years. Gwen's father retired from military service (Submarines) and we settled here in Mystic. Currently owned by Gwen, the daughter of the family, the apartment is completely private and has a separate entrance. You will also have access to the backyard with 1 acre with a firepit and basketball court, where you can relax and enjoy the wild animals that often shows up in the yard (deer, turkey, squirrels, rabbits etc!) The house is shared with an upstairs tenant Sarah who is available to help if needed or if alone is your preference you won't even know she's there so quiet is she. Please note your space is strictly downstairs. The apartment is decorated witt art collected as a family and from Gwen’s travels around the world and it is painted in a color scheme that reflects both her personality and her home down in Key West Florida where she resides (mostly) full time when shes not traveling the USA in her van :). A fun feature of the house is a record player where you can play records from Gwen’s mother’s collection from the 70s and 80s! Gwen's father also makes a strong appearance in Naval Submarine memorabilia and photos from his 20 years of service on submarines. All the photos in the bedroom are of ships that he personally served in. You will find many unique and personal touches that make this apartment feel like a home away from home. Driving distance (25 min or less) to many popular attractions as well as several major CT employers (Coast guard academy, Naval sub base, Pfizer, Electric Boat, Mystic Aquarium and Seaport, Foxwoods AND Mohegan Sun Casinos, Backus hospital and Lawrence and Memorial Hospital) Please note, we have 1 permanent cat and one semi permanent cat on property upstairs and while we fully sanitize between guests we cannot guarantee 100% no cat dander exists (the house washer/dryer is downstairs and between guests we and the cats do enjoy our downstairs spare "home" as its the coolest hangout spot around!). Thank you for your understanding. Pets more than welcome but please no cat aggressive dogs; the cats will not be allowed in your space during your stay- unless you ask! Guest access You will have access to the entire downstairs apartment, the firepit, and the outside space. You will also have access to the washer and dryer if you'd like to use it, as well as the wireless internet, and parking for 2 cars in the driveway. We will provide you with a code to enter the apartment, so you can check in and out at your convenience. Other things to note • No smoking inside • Pets allowed with pet fee • Please respect the neighbors and the property and follow the house rules. • Door to upstairs unit will be locked during your stay, camera is used to monitor upstairs tenants stairs to ensure privacy between units.
