Description
The perfect retreat on the Shenandoah River for hikers, artists, writers. Private entrance to your exclusive 1st floor suite w/ living room, kitchenette, yoga space, art studio/dining space, bedroom, full bath. Bring your kayak, hiking shoes, paints, journal, yoga mat & enjoy nature. Short walk to boat landing. 3 or 7 mile river walk right from the door. 15 min drive grocery, cafes, shops, vineyards. Conveniently located an hour west of DC. SOLO travelers welcome. Family lives on separate floor. The space Private entrance w/ keyless entry to your 1st floor suite. Enter into your workout & meditation room including an elliptical, light hand weights and yoga space overlooking the garden, river & outdoor patio w/ eating area. The living room space includes a kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave & coffee maker. Huge windows fill the space with natural light and breathtaking views. The hallway takes you to the art studio with drawing table/stool and large window seat w/river views for writing, journaling or birdwatching w/ a cup of tea or glass of wine. Opposite is your small and cozy private bedroom w/ queen bed and full bath w/ walk-in shower. You have complete and private access to the 1st floor of our home. I live in the unit on the far side of the house so there is minimal noise. You may see me working in the garden on weekends. Enjoy the river tubes available for your use or rent tubes down the road. The boat landing is a short walk from the house for your kayak or canoe. **PLEASE NOTE we do not have a TV. We enjoy the serenity of the setting here. This is a remote river location so cell phone service can be unreliable- going outside or up the road helps if your service fails. Guest access You have private use of the 1st floor and 1st floor patio of our home. During your stay you can enjoy our garden and fire pit. **To decrease riverbank erosion please only access the river from the public boat landing a short walk down river. Other things to note I have a tandem kayak, paddles and life vests (S, M) for use. KAYAK AT YOUR OWN RISK and use safety precautions. The river’s depth and current can change unexpectedly. If you use the fire pit, be sure to extinguish all flames before leaving unattended. The sand bucket is stored on the patio to use to put out the fire. Guests are responsible for damages. SMOKING IS PROHIBITED ANYWHERE ON THE PROPERTY. A $500 fine will be applied especially if cigarette butts are left on the property.
