The wide sandy beaches of St. Peter-Ording can be reached after approx. 10 minutes by car (about 11 km). A small shopping center and the city center with restaurants and a music pub are easily accessible. Every Tuesday there is a weekly market with regional products at the church and market square. During the summer months numerous events take place in Garding - e.g. the musicians' exchange with live music.
