Description
Beautiful, inspiring, and peaceful, Arthouse is a place to escape. This converted art studio in West Dorset is close to Chesil Beach and the Jurassic Coast. It is surrounded by wildflowers and features contemporary art and sculptures by artists Rouwen and Reeve. The space is complemented by mid-century modern furnishings, high ceilings, and exposed beams. All doors open to a private patio and a naturalistic garden. The Sauna, located in the gravel garden looks out onto sculptures and plants. The space The Arthouse, carefully curated and designed to reflect the living space of artists Rouwen and Reeve, combines their artworks with hand-made and vintage ceramics, furniture, and soft furnishings. The open-plan, well-equipped kitchen and dining area have plenty of space for preparing meals. Three steps up to the sitting area, you find an olive green velvet sofa, mid-century modern furniture, and distinctive artisan soft furnishings designed to create a contemporary yet cosy feel. A television, hi-fi and turntable, and a selection of vinyls, books, magazines, and board games are available for your entertainment. Stepping from the kitchen and dining area, you'll discover a spacious, airy bedroom with a king-size bed and a walk-in wet room with shower, hand basin, and WC. The bedroom opens onto a gravelled path overlooking flowerbeds, allowing natural light and fresh air to fill the room. The private patio features a table with chairs, two Adirondack chairs, a fire pit, and a parasol, creating a tranquil outdoor space. For a cosy night under the stars, sit around the fire pit with a blanket and enjoy listening to a selection of vinyl records. Wood and fire lighters are available in the kitchen. A traditional outdoor sauna with a changing room and an outside cold shower overlooks a gravel garden at the back of the property. Two Adirondack chairs are available to relax in after your sauna. The owner's contemporary art studio at the back of the property is available as a workspace for artists/creatives. The spacious renovated barn offers ample natural light. Please note that you will need to bring your own art materials. This space is shared with the artist-owners and is available upon request.
