Dive into the history of this unique and memorable place. A beautifully renovated, original 16th Century barn is the perfect place to relax. You can snuggle up in front of the wood burning stove after a day of exploring the local countryside and towns. The barn is located perfectly for a visit to the Lakes. Ullswater and Pooley Bridge are only a 30 minute drive away. Equally the Yorkshire Dales and the highest pub in the UK; Tan Hill Inn are also accessible from the barn. The space As you enter the barn through the courtyard and front door there are two bedrooms, one with a king size bed and the second bedroom with a double bed which are separated by the shared luxury bathroom. Also on the ground floor there is a utility room to leave your muddy clothes and boots. Up the original, winding, stone staircase you will find the open plan lounge, dining and kitchen area. There is also a mezzanine above the kitchen which is perfect to relax and read whilst listening to the crackle of the fire. The oak beams are all original from ships of the 16th century and have been hand oiled to show their true beauty. The kitchen is equipped with fridge freezer, free standing, dual fuel, range cooker with gas hob and 3 electric ovens, microwave, toaster, kettle etc for all your culinary needs. Guest access The entire barn is at your disposal via the courtyard. Other things to note The Barn has an eco-friendly heating system via an air source heat pump. This is pre-set at a comfortable temperature for the day. The heat setting is slightly lower during the late evening for a great night's sleep. For additional heat and coziness please feel free to light the log burner. A basket and a bag of logs are provided as part of your booking. Additional logs can be purchased from Stephenson's of Appleby, the Green Grocers up the street.
