With the sound of the stream, the view to the mountains of Chirripó and the city the atmosphere is very relaxing. The house is located in Miravalles a part of the town of San Isidro de El General in the southwestern part of Costa Rica up in the mountains but only around 45 min from the beach in Dominical. This area is only 15 min away from downtown of San Isidro but has a very calming atmosphere and since it is at an elevation of approx. 1000m above sea level the nights are pleasant and cool. The house has three bedrooms, two of them with Queen beds, the third one with a Full bed. All beds have fresh linens, pillows and there are extra blankets. The beds have high quality mattresses. There are two full bathrooms, towels, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and soap is available. The showers as well as the kitchen have warm water. The kitchen is fully equipped with: - refrigerator including a freezer compartment - electric stovetop and oven - Drip coffee (chorreador) and french press - dishes, pots and pans - salt & pepper - oil & vinegar The terrace with the dining table seating 6 people has an incredible view over the mountains and downtown. At the back of the house is a laundry room equipped with a big sink, washing machine and dryer. There are a lot of activities in the surrounding area: - hiking - paragliding - Chirripó trips - ATV tour - canopy tour - trips to waterfalls Please note: All ages are welcome. However please be aware that because of the stairs and the stream extra caution is needed when infants and little kids are onsite. During the stay at Casa Bambú the whole house, garden and stream is available to the guests. For exploring Costa Rica it makes sense to rent a 4x4 vehicle. But the property can be acessed with a 2x4 as well. The road up to the house is paved with only a little part at the top that is gravel. I live in the neighbourhood with my family. Miravalles has become a very popular area to live in Pérez Zeledón due to its fresh climate and amazing views. For hiking you can start right from the house and explore the neighbourhood. You will not only meet people, ticos and expats, but also dogs, cats, chickens, cows and goats! Sometimes a goat accompanies you on your walk! The neighbourhood is very safe, quiet and relaxed, but close to all the amenities of the city: supermarkets, hospitals, gas stations, banks and the weekly farmers market. Of course there is also a lot to explore in the surrounding area: waterfalls, the beach, Chirripó national park, hiking, ATV tours, canopy tour...
