Maxine's Rural Retreat

Cozy and quiet, fully remodeled gem. KING bed in the master bedroom. Second bedroom sleeps 4 with twin over full bunk bed plus trundle bed. Comfy new furniture in living room. Roomy kitchen and dining area. Fenced yard and covered carport/patio with outdoor dining table. Locking shed with 6-bike rack. 2 miles from Pahvant MTB Trailhead and ATV Trails. Perfect hub for visiting all 5 UT National Parks . Great place to stay when attending events at the Sevier Valley Center (1.5 miles). The space Maxine's still needs some work on the outside, but the inside has been completely remodeled. We designed the living room to feel like home with lots of comfy chairs and pillows, so we hope you make yourself at home and get comfy. The TV has lots of free channels that run off of an antenna. There is a Roku hooked up to the TV with more free shows on the Roku channel, or you can log in to your favorite subscriptions. We also provide free Wi-fi that is fast and reliable. The dining area is roomy and free of clutter with a table that seats 6 and an island that seats 2. The kitchen includes a large refrigerator, full size stove, microwave, and toaster. We have a Keurig coffee maker for making a single cup of coffee or for simply heating water for cocoa or tea. Enjoy a few complimentary packets/pods to get you started. We have a washer and a dryer for our guests that want to do laundry. Feel free to use the complimentary laundry pods to run a quick load. Or bring some soap for those extended stays and keep up on laundry so you don't have to do it all when you get home. BE AWARE there is a 2 inch step down from the kitchen into the laundry room (and bathroom). The bathroom includes a tub/shower combo and a vanity with a large mirror. If we could change anything about the house it would be to make the bathroom a bit more roomy. But, the house is over 100 years old and the bathroom was added on after the house was built, so we've tried to update the space and make it the best that we can. The larger bedroom has a comfy king bed and huge closet with luggage racks. There is a full length mirror which you could use for getting ready and take some pressure off the bathroom. The nightstands have USB as well as regular outlets, plus an alarm clock. There is an air mattress and a pack n play in the closet which you are welcome to use as needed. The small bedroom has a twin over full bunk bed with a twin trundle. The ceiling is fairly low so there isn’t a lot of head space above the top bunk. Please note that an adult would probably not be comfortable up there. If someone wants to sleep on the couch or the Love Sac they are welcome to do so. There is extra bedding in the ottoman in the living room. There is also extra bedding in the closet along with a luggage rack. There is a nightstand with USB and regular outlets and an alarm clock. Maxine's is located just one block off of one of the main roads through town, so it is very easy to find and it is very easy to get places. There is a Chinese Buffett restaurant just 2 blocks away and a gas station with convenience store 3.5 blocks away. Maxine’s is also within 5 blocks of Main Street and two city parks. And yet, the neighborhood is VERY quiet and private. Because it is on the corner, there is plenty of available parking if you are hauling ATV's or pulling a trailer. Enjoy a spectacular view of Cove and Monroe Mountains out the front windows. The yard is fully fenced which is nice if you have small children that want to play outside. We've recently added patio lights if you want to sit outside in the evening. Feel free to open the gate and park under the carport. You can move the patio table as desired. And you are welcome to use the hose to wash bikes, ATV's, etc. We've recently opened a storage shed for your bikes and other valuables. Shed has a 6-bike rack and there is a padlock available, but you are also welcome to bring your own lock. Shed also has 2-outlets for charging e-bikes or other uses. Richfield is the perfect place to stay if you are visiting the national parks. Maxine's is within a 2.5 hour drive from all 5 Utah National Parks. Richfield is also home to the Rocky Mountain ATV Jamboree. The Paiute Trail System boasts over 2000 miles of ATV trails to ride and is the longest in the US. Richfield has also constructed a network of mountain bike trails (Pahvant Trail System) that are beginning to attract people from all over the country. If you stay at Maxine's you will be 2 miles from the Pahvant Trailhead. In addition, the Sevier Valley Center hosts several weekends of volleyball, wrestling and basketball tournaments as well as dance competitions, concerts, plays, and more. We understand that hotels have to keep people moving in and out on a schedule, but we have a little more flexibility than that. So feel free to ask for an earlier check-in or extended check-out time and we will do our best to accommodate you. We want to make your stay as pleasant as possible.
