Several troops of howler monkeys live in the surrounding forest and regularly visit to feed and lounge in the lush foliage. Lockbox on-site means guests can arrive at any time with out the need to coordinate check-in. Other things to note Exclusive guidebook located on site! Casa Botanica is located on a beach road. Like many roads in Costa Rica, it is a dirt road. We recommend guests rent an SUV to provide the extra clearance to access our pristine beaches! Home is professionally cleaned and disinfected between guests. Sofa bed in the living room has an cushion located under the sofa on the left side. Guests must shower outside upon returning from the beach. Be sure to take extra care to remove sand prior to entering house. Sand inside the house or pool can damage finishes and clog drains. Please rinse off before using the pool. Home will be inspected carefully upon check-out. Beach chairs are provided. We do not provide a beach umbrella due to winds and ample shade trees on our beaches. Please bring your own snorkel gear. Please note that the only way in and out of this area is through the town of Matapalo, a 10 minute ride from the house. From Matapalo, all other beaches and towns can be accessed. (The old road from Playa Puerto Viejo to Brasilito is now private, and part of the Westin Reserva Conchal. But there is a walking trail from Playa Puerto Viejo to Brasilito.)
