Cosy Purbeck Cottage 'Little Blue House'

Quaint historical semi detached cottage 20 mins to beaches and 5-20 to major Dorset landmarks A cosy lounge, little kitchen and double bedroom with shower bathroom, secluded garden. Off road parking with EV charger and are dog/cat friendly. A lovely pub next door and Corfe Castle, Lulworth, Studland beach are within a short drive. You can walk into Wareham within 10 minutes and enjoy a walk by the river and lunch at many pubs and cafes. The space This is a full-time home offered up to stay we are away, therefore it should have cozy "lived in vibes" and we want you to treat it as home from home. Do expect a little of our food tidied into bottom of fridge and personal items around.. This is not a holiday let! ***please note before booking** The house is an old Tollhouse that is long since seperated into semi detached.. The neighbours have right of way past our front door to their gate. They also now have a dog who does bark when people arrive, if you are not used to dogs it can sound scary! But she is behind a gate and very sweet actually*** The decor is inspired by my love of nature and some of the experiences we have had and we have aimed create a cozy unique space which we love to relax in and hopefully you will too. Please note, there is a road running past the front which is a little busy in day but quiet at night. The house has no direct views as it's the old Toll House for Stoborough! However it is located with fantastic access to local sights and the town of Wareham is a 10 minute walk over the beautiful Causeway. Before we leave we always vacuum throughout, wipe/mop all surfaces (including floor) with anti bac wipes, dust and clean bathroom thoroughly. We will change the bedding and leave 2 clean towels each. The lounge has a woodburner which we welcome you to carefully use. Dogs can go on sofas for cuddles as long as clean and dry. The smart TV has Netflix, Disney and Prime with Paramount.. It is NOT plugged into an ariel so there is NO live TV. We have cancelled the TV licence as never watch live TV! We use a PS5 to watch streaming services, instructions are provided. Alexa is in the lounge.. She can turn on lounge light "alexa turn on lamp" there are colours and brightness adjustments. Plus also Spotify etc. The little kitchen is small but should have everything you need...just rummage through the cupboards.. Large plates in the one by the fridge! We welcome you to help yourself to tea and coffee, oils and salt and pepper etc. Please note there is only a tiny table for 2 in kitchen.. Mostly we eat here or on lap in lounge! Upstairs (please note a small curved cottage staircase so not suitable for some people to negotiate) you will find a little landing with a small bathroom that has a power shower (no bath). The front bedroom has a very comfy double bed and nightstand each side (no TV in bedroom). An empty chest of drawers and large wardrobe with space in the left. Back bedroom has another double bed but only access into the bed one side. Both bedsets will be clean so feel free to choose your favourite room! We just ask you stick to one to save washing! Please note..the garden is SEPERATE to the house as its a semi detached and we share the land. Left out of the back door is the alley to the lovely established garden. The neighbours crazy garden is direct on the left.. Just keep walking! Ours is at the end though the blue gate! The neighbours do have a black labrador dog called Elsa who is lovely, she sometimes barks but is very gentle. Its a lovely spot looking across to Wareham one side and the Purbeck hills the other. In 2025 we are improving it and planning decking with pergola and new fencing so you can enjoy a glass of wine in the evening sun. In the mean time excuse the wild end part! The chalet is locked but If you come for cycling and want to lock up expensive bikes the key is on the end of the coat rack by the back door. There is a hose / tap outside back door for muddy boots, bikes or dogs and access thru a side gate as well as from the kitchen. Guest access There is access to the lounge, kitchen, toilet and shower room and the bedrooms. The hairdryer lives in the second bedroom. We have a garden which is CURRENTLY BEING LANDSCAPED (July 2025) so In true quirky Dorset Style it is up an alleyway by the house so you need to walk about 30 meters past the neighbours quirky and busy garden on the left up to our blue gate to access it - please be aware of this before you book. Other things to note **July 2025..garden landscaping happening!! Still Ok for doggy wee wees but a bit of a building site!!*** I have a log burner you may use with care there is kindling and firelighters provided you can get bags of logs from the garage across the road. It closes at 19.30 I have a garden but in true quirky Dorset Style it is up an alleyway by the house please be aware of this before you book as dogs need to be escorted up to garden! There are dog poo bags on the hooks by back door in a hessian bag, plus garden shoes and a head torch! The slat type of venitian blinds in the bedroom are lovely but NOT lightproof, so bring eye mask and earplugs if you are sensitive.. Or use the back bedroom which is much darker. There is an EV charger which runs off solar in the day. It costs about £6-7 to charge a car overnight so if staying a while with an EV I ask you to donate if using this a lot please as my Airbnb fee is for the costs of running the house only. I only charge a very minimal cleaning fee to cover costs of cleaning products, there are no extra fees for pets.
