The Cupán

Charming and spacious, nicely located just off the Main Street, overlooking Lough Derg and the Aistear Park. The park, with its maze, labyrinth, picknick tables and fenced playground, offers easy access to the harbour and a Blue Flag beach. The beach is very safe for little ones. A convenient location for day trips to the Clare coast or to Galway and Limerick cities. Dublin is a 2.5 hour drive Shannon Airport 50min. Shops 10min, Supermarket 20 min. Pizzeria four doors down. Pub restaurant 100m. The space The holiday cottage at The Cupan is forms the side and rear of one of the original village houses. There is a private apartment above your space while the rooms fronting the main street are currently not in use. The main entrance is via a small gravelled courtyard, into the dining room. There are the two bedrooms, both ensuite, one with a double bed and the other with a bunk bed, double on the bottom, single on the top. There is a generous sized sitting room with a wood burning stove and a basket of fuel to start you off. There is a television with the Now app to access your own subscriptions or you can cast from your device to the TV. There is also a sofa bed.If this is to be used, please request the extra bedding and note that people using the sofa bed will need to use one of the ensuite bathrooms through one of the bedrooms. The front of the sitting room leads to a small patio overlooking the park, perfect for afternoon tea. There is a nicely kitted out kitchen to the rear of the dining room. Just off the kitchen there is a washing machine. Guest access You have sole access to the space. Entry is off a private gravelled driveway via courtyard sliding doors to the left of the exterior private stairs. There are sliding doors at the front of the sitting room which open onto a little patio with a table and seating. Being close to the main street you are part of the comings and goings of the village, but set back a little from the street so you have a sense of privacy also. Other things to note Safety Notice The driveway beside the apartment is a shared access driveway with the houses next door so must not be blocked. You can park your car neatly outside the apartment or there is parking space for two cars behind the apartment, just above the gas tank. The car park for the houses next door is private and cant be used. Once the external door/s are open, there is direct access to this driveway and the main street, if you have a pet or small children. There is no enclosed garden space, but you have easy access to the beautiful Aistear park and playground just across the road. There is a step up from the dining room into the sitting room which should be noted for people with mobility issues. Due to the layout of the space, there are connecting doors to the other downstairs unit, at the front, but these are kept locked.
