Curlews Return
Curlews Return
Description
We are a new venue with views over Thruscross reservoir and the walk around it, which connects to many others. This is cycling country following the Yorkshire Tour de France. We are in an AONB and a dark skies area. The birdlife is varied and the iconic Curlew gives our venue its name as they nest here each year. Harrogate and Ilkley are close by with excellent pubs and restaurants. Harrogate boasts a convention centre, the Royal Hall, Betty’s tearooms, Harlow Carr gardens and the Turkish baths. The space We have a listed barn conversion overlooking Thruscross reservoir. It is situated in a quiet and secluded AONB with a clear night sky. We offer a double en-suite bedroom with its own access door and stairway. There is parking immediately outside as the photos show. We have a wood fired sauna and hot tub outside in our garden. Whilst they have spectacular views out on a hillside, they are exposed to the elements, and so are not often used in the winter months. The sauna can be made available on request at the owners discretion. As both are wood fired and off grid, and take 1-2 hours to prepare, they incur an additional fee to our standard booking. We ask for £25 per day for either to be available. Bringing cash makes this an easy flexible arrangement. Photos of how the above are set up can be seen on our other Airbnb site called “Yorkshires hidden gem”. This is a glamping site available in the summer months. As those glamping offer book both it is suggested that early requests for either are submitted through the summer months if they are required. Guest access The bedroom and bathroom are en-suite and separated from the main house. The stairs to the door are right beside the parking slot. During your stay We are happy to welcome all guests in person, but access and a stay here can be gained without this if preferred. Other things to note We have 2 elderly Labradors and so are not at present welcoming any additional pets to our site. We also ask for no candles or any naked flame indoors please. We do not have or need a carbon monoxide alarm as a result. We do have a grandfather clock in the hall below which chimes each hour. If guests have any problem with this, please ask and we will stop it.
