Relax in this cottage by the lake after spending a day on the Portage Chain of Lakes. Enjoy a picnic and games at the community park located across the street with unobstructed views of beautiful Portage Lake. Watch a game on the 65" smart TV. Enjoy cooking w/ a fully equipped kitchen and propane grill. Indoor and outdoor dining areas. End the evening around the fire pit underneath the stars. There is a free boat launch nearby on the main road. In-unit washer & dryer. New HVAC in '24 The space This property was built in 1940 and is a kit home from Better Homes and Gardens. It has been modernized to enjoy the comforts of today while still maintaining that beautiful cottage feeling. The primary bedroom has a queen bed and ample storage w/ shelving and hanging rods in the closet. The secondary bedroom has a bunk bed w/ 2 full-size mattresses. There is also a twin-sized trundle underneath. The living room sofa does pull out into a queen-sized mattress as well. The kitchen is equipped with full size fridge, gas oven/range, dishwasher, Ninja coffee maker, microwave, slow-cooker, mixing bowls, pots, pans, baking sheets, toaster, tableware, plenty of cooking utensils, wine bottle opener, salt pepper and cooking spray. The bathroom has plenty of fluffy white towels, and make-up removing cloths. We stock the bathroom with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand-soap, and toilet paper. The outdoor space has a large picnic table, Adirondack chairs surround the fire pit. Propane grill for outdoor cooking. The fireplace has an electric insert with various lighting options and adjustable heat controls via remote. There are basic cleaning supplies including laundry soap and dishwasher tabs to make your stay more comfortable. Brand new Furnace and Air Conditioner in 2024. The cottage is across the street from a community park maintained by the HOA. Guests may utilize the park for recreational activities. IF YOU PLAN TO BRING A BOAT: This property does NOT come with a boat slip. Unfortunately, HOA rules prohibit short term rental guests from utilizing the dock at the community park. Guests may utilize the public boat launch located on MacGregor Road to enter the water. This is the only public boat launch on the Portage Chain of Lakes. The public boat launch has parking, but it fills up very early in the summer, so we recommend getting there early. There is a fee, check the Department of Natural Resource's (DNR) website for more information of launching and purchasing a recreation passport. If you are out on the water during the day, guests may drive their boat into the community park area and drop anchor if you need to stop by the house. However, no boats may be tied directly to the dock, as it is not designed for having boats directly attached. Guests may do this during the day only, boats may not be anchored in this manner overnight. The driveway at the cottage is long enough to accommodate boats on a trailer. Please contact the host if you have any clarifying questions about bringing your boat. Guest access Guests will be given a personalized access code to the keyless front door lock on the morning of check-in and will be valid for the duration of the booking. Guests will have full use of the property minus a small supply closet and utility room. Other things to note The Smart TV has many streaming apps. Guests are welcome to sign into their accounts for the duration of the stay. If you need a high chair, pack and play, children's tableware, books and toys (infant) please let us know and we'll bring them to the home prior to your arrival. Hamburg Township Permit # PLUP25-0019
