Motley: Cottage on Organic Farm
Description
The first (named Motley after an old friend) of 3 beautiful converted pig sheds. Fresh, new cottages, fully powered by renewable energy with wood burning stoves and access to the farmyard with pizza oven and firepit. The cottages, which sleep 2 or 4 (with sofabed), and have there own kitchen and bathroom, are in the South Downs on an organic farm; quiet, peaceful, and surrounded by wildlife, with the opportunity to join a workshop or tour of farm. The space The cottage is modern and though small feels spacious and light. The open plan bedroom/living-room becomes a kitchen (dishwasher, oven, microwave, toaster) wrapping around a separate bathroom (shower). Each cottage has underfloor heating and a wood burning stove, great for cosy winter stays, and a stable door that will keep the dog in whilst opening up to a cool summer breeze. There is WiFi (rural speeds) but there is no television. Guest access Guests of the 3 cottages and yurt, as well as occasional campers in summer, have access to the entire farmyard area with lots of outdoor and indoor space for children to play, for BBQs and pizza making, creating a sense of community and an opportunity to chat (if you want to) to other guests and the family who look after this working farm. There is a camping kitchen area (includes BBQ, pizza oven, toilets, outdoor shower, seating), a grass area (shaded and unshaded), a gravel area, and a large wooden barn with long table for communal meals, sofas, smooth concrete floor, lighting. The outdoor space is beautiful and peaceful, and the barn space provides a good place for energetic children on rainy days, as well as big family dinners on summer evenings. Other things to note Groups can book 2/3 cottages, yurt and shepherds hut through Airbnb or our website.
