Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Located across from the New River, this mountain retreat is a great place to relax and disconnect or spend time adventuring. The cabin has all of the amenities for a quiet escape with a front porch, hot tub, fireplace, and outdoor gas fire pit. The central location to Boone, Blowing Rock, Grandfather Mountain, local hiking, zip lining, gem mining, and New River tubing and kayaking, makes this home a great place to spend a week exploring. The cabin is three stories. The main level features a spacious living area with rustic soaring vaulted ceilings and a beautiful gas-burning fireplace. Enjoy the open-air front deck porch with rockers and a gas fire pit. The Master bedroom suite with a King bed, walk in closet and an ensuite bathroom are located on the main level. The cozy living room, fully stocked kitchen, laundry room and spare bathroom are also on the main level. On the uppermost level you will find the second bedroom with a queen bed and a full bathroom with shower. The adjacent loft area provides space for family game night, puzzles, or playing as you look down upon the lower living area. A full size futon in the loft gives an extra sleeping space. You will find a separate computer workstation area in the loft, just plug in your laptop and enjoy this area to work remotely from the comfort of the cabin. At the basement level there is another fun space with a pool table, futon, chairs, and cornhole. A gas heater keeps this area warm during the colder months. The private hot-tub on the basement porch is available year round and offers a beautiful view of the New River. Mountain River Retreat offers its guests gas heat and portable AC in each room, in addition to tower fans and heaters, a laundry area with washer, dryer and third bathroom. Digital TV programming, WiFi internet, and a very large front and rear yard for playing and exploring. The cabin provides the character and charm of a log cabin, yet with the comforts and amenities of a modern vacation destination. This cabin offers fun and convenient activities for guests to enjoy during all the four seasons! Downtown Boone is only 13 miles away, and Blowing Rock is about 19 miles away. Both are excellent destinations for dining and shopping. Some of our favorites are the Beacon, Gamekeeper, and The Speckled Trout. Tweetsie Railroad and West Jefferson are also conveniently close by. The Blue Ridge Parkway is less than 8 miles from Mountain River Retreat, and the village of Valle Crucis - with the original Mast General Store, and its massive riverfront town park - is approximately 20 miles away. Grandfather Mountain is an hour drive along the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway. You can find activities for all the seasons including hiking, fishing, tubing, zip lines, snow tubing, snow skiing, sledding, ice skating, snowboarding and so much more are all conveniently close to Mountain River Retreat! Nearby skiing destinations App Ski Mtn, Sugar Mountain Ski Resort and Ski Beech Resort. Other things to note: Absolutely no events. We have tailored our space for small, relaxing gatherings of no more than 4 adults or a small family. This is how we use our cabin, and we ask that you do the same. A fee is charged for unauthorized guests. Absolutely NO SMOKING anywhere on the property. An additional $250 fee will be charged if violated. All living space and basement are accessible. There are two owner's closets, which will be locked, however there is plenty of closest and storage space throughout the cabin. The garage is unavailable at this time for guest access. Guest will need to use stairs to get to the front door and main level. We will be available during your stay if anything comes up! Our family lives in Oviedo, Florida, however we are available for answering any questions or to give direction on any of the cabin amenities. Starter kits are provided for the kitchen and bath. Toilet paper, paper towels, laundry pods, dishwasher pods, dish soap, kitchen trash bags, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. Towels and linens will be provided for you. AWD or 4WD vehicles may be required during winter months. For home safety, there are external facing cameras that monitor the driveway. All guests must be registered, either by inviting them through Airbnb or by providing their first name and first letter of the last name (excluding children) during booking.
