Browns' Off Grid Cabin
Description
Sit back, relax and enjoy nature literally on the doorstep and epic valley views or make this your perfect base for fishing, rafting, walking, mountain biking and even skiing in the winter (or all of the above!). The off grid cabin backs on to Alpine National Park, is walking distance to the renowned for fly fishing Bundarra River and a short drive to Middle Creek and the Cobungra and Mitta Rivers. It is a 40 min drive to Omeo, and 1.5 hr drive to Hotham. The space You enter into the main living area of the Cabin with an open plan kitchen. This area includes a sofa, ‘lazy boy’ chair, piano, dining table, window seat, kitchen bench, TV and a wood heater making it a gorgeous space to hang out in during the winter or summer. There is one main bedroom with a queen size bed and a smaller bedroom at the back of the cabin which has a double bed and a set of bunks. The back bedroom is most suited to 1-2 adults and 2 children due to its size but the beds are comfortable and if you plan to spend most of your time enjoying the rest of the cabin and its surroundings you will be perfectly comfortable. There is a compact bathroom off the main bedroom that has a shower, small basin and toilet. There is also a toilet at the back of the cabin, near the second bedroom and an outdoor shower just outside the back door, which has hot water. We highly recommend this pleasant experience! There is a large deck which provides a beautiful view down the valley and towards the mountains. Guest access Guests will have access to the whole Cabin except a small storage room at the back. Other things to note It is a very "rustic" cabin and is in a remote area of North East Gippsland, so does not offer some of the modern conveniences available in most areas, such as central heating, air conditioning, microwave or dishwasher etc. As part of our commitment to sustainable and off-grid living, we would like to share some important information to ensure you have a comfortable and eco-friendly experience during your time with us. The Cabin is totally off the grid, meaning we rely on renewable energy sources and responsible resource management. Rain water is collected in tanks and all power is generated by solar panels (so it is finite!). Please be mindful of your energy usage during your stay. While the days are longer and the sun is shining, there should be no shortage of power in the battery. However, we would appreciate it if no hair dryers are used. The toaster and food processor should only be used during daylight hours. If there is no sun, the battery could run down and eventually the power will go off. This has only happened once in three years! Please contact Jen and Aleks if there is a problem. We also ask you to use water thoughtfully, particularly in the summer. Don’t leave taps on, consider shorter showers and re-use water where possible.
