The old schoolhouse

Welcome to the old schoolhouse at Vassenden in Sørbøvåg, the place of peace and quiet. The old schoolhouse was used as a school for the surrounding villages, from 1910-1959. In recent times, the house has received a significant upgrade and we spend a lot of time here ourselves. The house is beautifully situated, right next to a lake and in the middle of beautiful mountains. The space The house has a large living room with high ceilings, a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. Two bedrooms with double beds in each, as well as an extra bed in one bedroom and a bed in the hallway between the bedrooms. Wood that is in the house should only be used for heating inside. Firewood and charcoal for the fire pan can be found in the outhouse. Pillows and blankets for the outdoor furniture are in the bed in the hallway. Large garden and outdoor area. There is access to a canoe by the lake 50 meters from the house and it is possible to use the fishing rod that is in the outhouse. Stays include bed linen and towels, as well as dishes. It is about 5 km to the nearest grocery store, which is located close to the lake. There are also opportunities to rent a boat and fishing equipment. Other things to note We appreciate that you do not wear shoes inside and that you treat the house nicely. This is a place we are very fond of and that we use a lot ourselves. Please note that there is no TV or Internet access, but there is mobile coverage on site. There is a small portable DVD player available and a wide range of movies. Be considerate when using the water. The house has running water from its own property, but if there have been periods of frost or with little rain, it can run out of water, although this happens extremely rarely. Be sure to wipe the kitchen counter so that no water marks the countertop.
