This magnificently restored 1940s Cape Cod boasts every modern comfort, new appliances, highest quality furnishings with attention to design and guest experience. The home comfortably accommodates up to 6 guests. Nestled in the heart of historic Canal Winchester, you are an easy walk to parks, restaurants and shops. Also conveniently located only 20 minutes to Downtown Columbus, and under an hour to beautiful Hocking Hills State Park. The space The home has a unique personal story, as it was my childhood home until age 7. 40 years after my parents sold this 1,200-square-foot 1940s gem, I brought it back to our family and lovingly restored it with exciting modern touches. I am thrilled to share this special space with you and show all my quaint hometown has to offer. LOCATION DETAILS: 2 minutes to Downtown Canal Winchester 5 minutes to nearest grocery, fast food & gas station 10 minutes to Slate Run Park & Farm 20-25 minutes to German Village, Downtown Columbus, Short North 30 minutes to Ohio State 50 minutes to Old Man's Cave (Hocking Hills) LIVING SPACES: Downstairs you will find the living room and a separate family room in its own wing with Queen sleeper sofa, fireplace and bathroom. Each has a Roku smart TV and both can intimately seat your party. There are board games and books for curling up by the fireplace. The family room with adjacent bathroom allows the entire house to sleep larger parties of up to 6. The formal dining room comfortably seats up to 8. The fully equipped chef's kitchen has a brand new gas range, top of the line kitchen appliances and tools like blender, food processor and air fryer, and full sets of brand new dishes, flatware, and glassware. Make quality coffee with freshly ground whole beans, which are provided. BEDROOMS: Enjoy 2 beautifully appointed bedrooms upstairs. Each includes hotel grade linens from Parachute, blackout curtains, and a very comfortable queen medium firm mattress from Helix. Every bed boasts Parachute brand down alternative comforters and 2 pillows per guest. There is plenty of room to unpack and store your belongings in the dressers and closets. Lots of hangers are provided. One bedroom includes a Roku smart TV. LOFT: The loft overlooks the family room and fireplace, and includes a dedicated office space. It also has a spot for workouts with hand weights, bands, Pilates ring, and mat provided. Finally, there is a comfy lounge chair and ottoman for relaxing. BATHROOMS: Both bathrooms are renovated with updated tile and glass shower doors. Bathrooms are well appointed with large plush white cotton towels, shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, lotion, room spray, non-toxic feminine hygiene products, and hair dryers. All products provided contain clean ingredients and are from the Modere brand. One bath is downstairs and provides a large shower. The other is upstairs with a shower/tub combo. OUTDOOR SPACE: The large backyard patio features gas fire pit and outdoor furniture -- great for gatherings. The yard is well landscaped and a lovely place to enjoy morning coffee or evening wine when the weather is nice. Please note that this is a historic house with two staircases. My goal was to modernize the home while preserving its character defining features. The home still has many of its original doors, windows, moldings and wood floors. So much love and attention has been poured into this space and I'm thrilled to share it with you. Guest access Guests have access to the entire property with the exception of the backyard shed and the basement. Please note, the driveway to the left when you are on the street side and facing the front of the house belongs to the neighbor. There is parking for up to 3 cars tandem in the driveway on the right side of the house. Street parking is prohibited in front of the house. Other things to note - Minimum age to rent is 25 and primary guest must stay for the duration of the booking. - A photo ID to verify age at the time of booking is required to finalize your reservation. -A rental contract must be signed online via your email address within 24 hours of booking. You can view a sample contract in house rules. - No pets allowed. CANCELLATION POLICY: Guests may cancel for a full refund up to 5 days before check in. If canceled within the 5 days, receive a 50% refund for every night books except the first. We highly recommend that you purchase travel insurance to cover any losses. NOISE ORDINANCE: This is a family home. We encourage our guests to have fun, but please be respectful of our very sweet neighbors and keep the noise to a minimum at all times. We are surrounded by full time residents who we love and who love us, and appreciate their peace and quiet. Please refrain from outdoor music and any amplified sound, and observe quiet hours of 9pm to 8am. SECURITY CAMERAS: We have 2 exterior cameras that will record audio & video upon motion detection, one at the front door and one at the side door. There are no cameras inside the house.
