Carinya is located 50 mins from Brisbane , and 2 minutes from Fernvale. It is easily accessible and yet feels miles away. The Farmhouse has been recently refurbished and beautifully furnished. The country kitchen is ideal for those who love to cook. There are a lot of spaces, both dining and lounging areas, and the beds are super comfy. Swim in the pool or kayak in the river. Enjoy river views, or watch the cows in the paddock. Time slows down at Carinya. The space Carinya comfortably accommodates 8 guests. There are four bedrooms (two upstairs and two downstairs) with comfy mattresses and lovely linen. Main bedroom (upstairs) - king size bed 2nd bedroom (upstairs) - double bed 3rd bedroom (downstairs) - two single beds 4th bedroom (downstairs) - two single beds The newly refurbished country kitchen is well equipped for those that love to cook, including a Thermomix. There is a Nespresso coffee machine with Merlo pods, a full sized dishwasher and fridge/freezer, and pantry items for your use. Please note that we do not have a microwave. The dining room seats 8, as does the dining space on the veranda. There are four seating areas throughout the farmhouse. The main living area with a large wall mounted TV, the window seats overlooking the cows in the paddocks, the vintage pretzel lounge on the veranda overlooking the river capturing beautiful sunsets, and a large daybed downstairs for reading or an afternoon snooze. The bathroom upstairs has been recently refurbished with a separate toilet and full bath. The downstairs bathroom has a shower, toilet and hand basin all in one. The laundry is equipped with a 7kg washer with washing powder provided. The house has ducted air conditioning and ceiling fans throughout. The large house block has established shady trees that are lovely to sit under on a warm day. The 12m magnesium pool is incredibly relaxing with a long bench seat the full length of the pool, which is great for kids but also lovely to sit on and chat with friends. There are two sun loungers by the pool. Please note that there isn't any shade in the pool area which helps to create a beautiful water temp, but we would recommend slip, slop, slap for sun safety. You can use the kayaks in the Brisbane river, ride on the Brisbane Valley Rail Trail, go walking along the Wivenhoe Hills trails, cook up a storm in the country kitchen, or simply relax with a book. Be as active or relaxed as you would like to be. Guest access Guests have access to the entire house, as well as the 12m magnesium pool, large grassed house block, and access to the fresh water river. Please note that the river access requires walking down (and back up) a relatively steep hill. You cannot drive a vehicle down there, and although there is a flat section to put kayaks in or go fishing from, it doesn't have a boat ramp or jetty. All kayaks need to be brought back up the hill and cannot be left at the river. We ask that you do not access the paddocks as we have cattle grazing and hay growing. Guests accessing the paddocks is not safe for people or animals, but also will damage the hay growth. Please note that we do NOT allow parties, events, or large gatherings of any kind. It is a quiet neighbourhood and we have neighbours nearby. We also keep our cleaning costs low and have not factored cleaning up after larger groups. It is also a non-smoking property (nowhere on the property). Carinya is a place to get away and relax. NOT a party venue. Thanks for respecting our home. Other things to note Country living also comes with wildlife, insects, sometimes snakes, the occasional spider web, barbed wire etc. We make every effort to ensure the property is safe and spotlessly clean, but you may encounter these things. We don’t allow access to the paddocks for the safety of livestock (and your safety) and we need to protect our hay growth. We also do NOT allow events, parties, or large gatherings. It is strictly a NO smoking property (no where on the property), and we do NOT allow pets of any kind. By booking to stay at Carinya you are acknowledging and respecting these requirements. 🙏
