(3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms) The space Built around 1850, Francis Cottage is situated within a stone’s throw of the historic town walls in the wonderful seaside town of Tenby, Pembrokeshire. With its own private, off-street parking for two cars adjacent, this pretty cottage is within a few minutes walk of the award-winning beaches of Tenby and all the delights of this famous seaside resort. Shops, cafés, restaurants and pubs, miles of golden sandy beaches, the picture-postcard colourful harbour and the narrow cobbled streets of the medieval walled town are only a short walk away. There are plenty of things to do and places to visit in this long-established holiday area: family attractions such as Folly Farm and Manor House Wildlife Park; boat trips for wildlife-spotting, fishing, or to visit the monastery on Caldey Island. You can visit ancient castles; National Trust properties; and the unmissable Pembrokeshire coast with its 186-mile Coastal Path, breathtaking scenery, and renowned beaches. Saundersfoot, Coppet Hall, Wiseman’s Bridge, Amroth, and Manorbier are just a short drive. Perfect for everyone. A bus route is within walking distance with regular buses to many of the surrounding towns and villages, and the railway station is also only a short walk away should guests wish to travel by train. Francis Cottage is always accessible by car as it is just outside the area which is pedestrianised during the summer. ACCOMMODATION Francis Cottage sleeps 6 people in 1 double and 2 twin bedrooms plus an infant in a cot UPSTAIRS • Bedroom 1: double bed, wardrobe, bedside units, individual reading lights • Bedroom 2: twin beds, wardrobe, bedside unit, individual reading lights • Bedroom 3: twin beds, storage of travel cot, wardrobe, bedside unit, individual reading lights • Main bathroom: bath with shower over, WC, twin hand basins • Shower room: shower cubicle, WC, hand basin DOWNSTAIRS • Sitting Room: 3-seater leather sofa, 2-seater leather sofa, armchair, Smart TV, DVD player, Bluetooth sound bar, HDMI lead for attaching games consoles, etc • Dining Room: table seating 6, dresser containing books and games, views of the garden, French windows to patio • Kitchen: gas hob, electric oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, slow cooker, full-size fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, breakfast bar with 2 stools OUTSIDE Francis Cottage has an enclosed rear garden with a patio, brick BBQ, assorted outside seating and mature fruit trees. There is parking to the rear for 2 cars, plus plenty of storage for kayaks, surfboards, bikes, etc, in a lockable garage. The front garden is enclosed and leads to the street via a metal gate. KEY FACTS • Bed linen, towels and a tea towel are provided, but NOT beach towels • Travel cot, highchair and stair gate are available upon request. Please bring your bedding for the cot • Gas central heating • Heating and electricity included • Superfast fibre WiFi included • Sorry, no dogs • From the end of July bedroom 2 will have a kingsize bed NOT twin single beds • No smoking anywhere on the property Other things to note Pre-arrival • The closest railway station is less than 500m walk from Francis Cottage and buses to various destinations stop both on South Parade (two minutes walk) and outside the multi storey car park, also less than 500m walk. • There is a good cross section of shops in Tenby which can supply most items • Sainsbury’s is underneath the multi storey car park just 500m away and both Asda and Tesco supermarkets in Pembroke Dock will deliver, if booked in advance • Some smaller, local food shops may also deliver but guests should enquire themselves at the time as these things can change • Tenby has a wide range of restaurants and cafes, catering for all tastes • Some offer a takeaway and delivery service but, if it is known that this will be needed, guests should enquire as to the availability before their visit as this may change throughout the year Arrival and car parking • Parking for the cottage is accessible via a fob activated security barrier. The fob is attached to the keys to the property which will be collected from a key box at the entrance to the car park • There is a height restriction of 2.5m at the entrance to the car park • Unfortunately we aren’t currently able to offer electric vehicle charging at Francis Cottage, however, there are charging stations in the nearby Five Arches car park Inside • Kitchen – Some cupboards and the fridge are not accessible to a person in a wheelchair • The kitchen and dining room have a barn door and a French door respectively, both opening onto the outside eating area • Dining room and lounge – Double doors between these rooms can be opened to allow access for a wheelchair or frame • The French doors to the outside eating area can both be opened to give extra room to manoeuvre • Stairs – Apart from the bannisters there are no extra handrails • Bathrooms – Both bathrooms are upstairs • One has a shower cubicle with a step to get into it, the other shower is over the bath • There are no adaptations or modifications to the toilets for reduced ability or mobility • The only steps in the cottage are the stairs to the first floor • There are no bathrooms or bedrooms on the ground floor Outside • The garden and all downstairs rooms are on one level and there are no steps to enter or leave the cottage from either the parking area, the front garden or street • The gravelled parking area to the rear of the property, which will accommodate two vehicles, is and accessed from the road via a security barrier and from the cottage via the wooden garden gate • There is a flat slate path leading from the garden gate to the level patio.
