A popular tourist spot, the town has a long history which can be glimpsed in the medieval town walls, the surviving tower of the castle, Five Arches Gate and more than 200 listed buildings. There are miles of sandy beach to discover, as well as plenty of great pubs, shops and restaurants. There’s plenty to do including windsurfing, water sports, boat trips, golf and fishing, with local attractions including Manor Wildlife Park, Heatherton World of Activities (both 3.5 miles) and Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo (6.5 miles).
