Other things to note Please be aware of dangerous rips on beaches in Tuross Head. For your own safety it is recommended you use Main Beach for swimming in deep water which is patrolled with life guards in the warmer months. Swim between the red and yellow flags. It is a legal requirement to wear a life jacket when using a kayak. Please also check weather forecast, in particular wind forecast before heading out. If you plan to paddle a fair distance, you may find the wind has got stronger while you were out on the water and it can be near impossible to paddle against a strong wind on your return trip. All people over the age of 18 years must holder a current fishing permit to be able to fish in NSW lakes, rivers and oceans. These can be obtained online at Service NSW.
