We offer a cleaning service in need. We bill extra for these and can provide pricing on request. Although tidying up on your departure day is part of the Airbnb policy there is no need to make beds and clean extensively. Just pack the dishwasher, clear rubbish and wipe surfaces used. ACCESS RESITRICTIONS The driveway is scenic and steep but tarred and perfectly safe - just drive carefully! The access is via a metal outside staircase so not suitable for all guests. We can arrange access via the main house in special circumstances, but it is still not wheelchair friendly. Let us know if we can help lug suitcases up for you! HEATING AND COOLING We have two gas heaters to keep you toasty and two fans to cool you down. The weather in Hilton is unpredictable to say the least! HILTON POWER ISSUES We aim to remain off grid but have prepaid electricity as back up. Hilton is notorious for power cuts that can last days and repairs are done often to the line. This necessitates 12-hour power outrages which are out of our control. If it’s overcast or raining and Eskom is down, we have to ask guests to manage their usage carefully, so it really helps if u let us know when you need hot water, so the geyser is not on 24/7. We will install gas geysers in 2025 in the unlikely event that Eskom, solar and the inverter fail. Anything is possible in SA but this only happened once in 24 hence the one poor review. We monitor the solar levels, geysers and power usage remotely but if you have any issues, please REPORT THEM IMMEDIATELY so we can rectify the situation.
