Apartment in typical Chamonix Le Tour chalet

For lovers of space and nature in the mountains: garden level apartment of a chalet with private access, located under the Tour glacier with views of the Aiguilles Rouges. Walking distance to Charamillon cable car (5 min) Large living room with wood-burning stove and pull-out bed, fitted kitchen, large bedroom with double bed and ample storage, bathroom with shower, separate toilet, private underground garage (ski and boot storage) + outdoor parking. Renovated in 2023. The space Our accommodation was fully renovated in 2023 because we use it primarily for ourselves. Renting is an opportunity for us to make you live a unique experience in the Chamonix Valley, within the Hameau du Tour, a small typical high mountain village. Here nothing artificial and overdone, it is the mountain in its raw state, view of the end of the Tour glacier above the Chalet, no chic shops or hectic nightlife. All amenities are available 2 km away in the village of Argentière (small supermarket, bakeries, restaurants, etc.). You can access it by public transport (in winter a bus every 15 minutes or so, in summer every 30 minutes). Chamonix is 11 km from Tour, about 20 min by car or bus to access the various typical attractions (Montenvers Train, Aiguille du Midi or Brévent Cable Car). The apartment: we used the purest possible renovation materials (lime plaster, water-based paints...) and we changed all the electric radiators to replace them with radiant panels. The installed electrical power is calculated to obtain a temperature of 20°C in the middle of winter, which you can supplement by using (reasonably) the wood-burning stove. We could have installed more power, but our concept is that we want to use the energy strictly necessary for acceptable comfort. In terms of furniture and decorative objects equipping the apartment, everything has a story. We have remarkable furniture and we thank you for taking care of it. In the bedroom, for example, there is a chest of drawers made by a Savoyard craftsman. In the living room, apart from the TV cabinet and the Savoyard oiled spruce coffee table, you also have a unique type of china cabinet, as it was made of recycled pallet wood by a French company. Finally, above the fireplace is an authentic wooden ice ax that has climbed a lot of peaks, we ask you to admire it without trying to take it down from its location. In the living room, you will notice the presence of a Chablis-type wall paneling of Savoyard origin. It's wood recycled from storms. With us it is an untreated white vein softwood (spruce) 2.5 cm thick, so very insulating and very comfortable. We also installed thermal curtains and replaced all sheets, duvets and pillows for extra comfort. Finally, we replaced all bulbs and fixtures with LEDs to limit electricity consumption. The winter season is long and it is often necessary to use artificial light, so with this installation the power drawn is reasonable. The garage is fully equipped to store skis and ski boots or snowshoes or hiking or mountaineering boots. It also serves as a reserve for firewood. You can park a car with a maximum height of 1.90 m and a length of 4.70 m. If you return with a vehicle full of snow, we ask that you clean it before returning to the garage (remove as much snow as possible from the vehicle) to avoid flooding the garage. For your information, at this time, there is no Wi-Fi in the apartment. Similarly for television, only the channels that can be picked up by the residence's antenna are available (the France television group channels and a few other channels are missing). Finally, the exteriors: you benefit from a garden on the ground floor in front of the living room window door. There is a garden table with a few seats to enjoy either long summer evenings or sunny late afternoons in the Tour hamlet from February in the winter season.
