Description

This luxe self-contained guesthouse has its own quirky style. With spectacular 360 panoramic views, The Lookout is one of the most stunning locations in the region. A short 12min drive north of Yeppoon toward Byfield National Park, it's the perfect getaway retreat to chill-out or base yourself to discover everything the Capricorn Coast & Southern Great Barrier Reef has on offer. Your hosts Bill & Pauline will make you welcome & ensure your stay on their mountain retreat is enjoyable & memorable. The space The Lookout Chalet is nestled on an east to west spur of the coastal range on our 25 hectare Woodbury property which is both a working cattle property and land for wildlife reserve. The stunning views from 'picture' windows in every room are an integral feature of the building design. Entirely self contained with a spacious 100 sq mtrs to relax and enjoy, the building was lovingly transformed from one of the original farm buildings into a modern fusion of rustic posts and timbers with stylish lines and decor. The luxe accommodation features a combined bedroom/lounge space (king-size & pull out sofa bed), full holiday kitchen and dining space, plus a quirky loft space with futon sofa bed. A well-appointed bathroom featuring a large bath for two people, walk-in open shower space and enclosed wc, completes the luxury feel of the interior space. The north facing yard has an outdoor dining/bbq area as well, and, a short 30mtr walk away, guests can access and enjoy our stunning pool area. Surrounded by volcanic boulders in a tropical landscaped setting of magnificent foxtail palms, the pool area is the perfect place to relax, cool off and enjoy a leisurely swim. From the pool area guests are also welcome to access The Lookout's tranquil main grounds which is comprised of a hectare of free-form gardens with rambling buffalo grass lawns, shade and fruit trees, terraced walkways and a myriad of viewing spots to take in every aspect of the spectacular 360 degree views. Guest access Guest access is via The Lookout's main sealed driveway from 494 Woodbury Road. The chalet has its own reserved parking area just a few meters from the front doors. Other things to note Sleeping configuration options when more than two guests intend to stay. The overall size of the building is about 100 sq mtrs of floor space (including loft/sunroom space). The layout of the main bedroom/lounge area is somewhat similar to a 'studio apartment', with a king bed plus a comfortable queen size sofa bed. This room is quite spacious (45 sq mtrs approx). The loft/sunroom space (10sq mtrs approx.) is situated above the dining room/kitchen area. While not specifically a designated bedroom area, it does have a ‘shut-eye’ futon sofa bed which is very comfortable to sleep on. When fully folded out the futon sofa is slightly larger that a king-size single bed. There are extra sheets and pillows provided as well if guests do wish to sleep in this area.
