This characterful stone cottage, within the grounds of a working farm, is ideal for families and friends keen to explore the breathtaking scenery and numerous local activities. Situated a mile outside the peaceful village of Painscastle with its traditional village inn, this property sits just above the Begwns (3 miles) – 580 acres of National Trust hills and a rolling landscape with enviable views across the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park. The space This lovely cottage, set over two levels, has a countryside theme and bold colours in the downstairs decor to bring a vibrant energy. Enter via the French doors into an inviting lobby, and then step into the hub of the cottage: an open-plan kitchen/diner that’s spacious and perfectly set up for entertaining. The kitchen has all the appliances to make meal preparation a cinch. A warming wood burner and dining table backed by valley views is the perfect spot to linger over delicious meals. To the rear of the barn, a small set of steps gives access to a shower room, a double bedroom, and a spacious twin room with an en-suite bathroom. Upstairs, you can relax in the lounge in one of the cosy sofas in front of the TV or sneak away to the small nook area perfect for board games and reading. A bathroom, double bedroom and twin room complete this floor. Outside, cook up a storm on the BBQ and dine alfresco around the outdoor dining table and chairs. The garden also offers access to the surrounding woodland and countryside. For the thrill-seekers, the Bannau Brycheiniog or Brecon Beacons (7 miles) and River Wye have several adventure providers, including canoeing, high-rope courses, and gorge walking. Nearby Hay-on-Wye (6 miles) is famous for its International Book Festival and is home to an arthouse cinema. Nature lovers and keen walkers can explore Pwll y Wrach nature reserve and Offa’s Dyke trail, both less than 15 miles away. House Rules Additional information and rules 1 dog allowed per booking.
