Camping A-Frames at Laing Family Farm
Relax and unplug in a quiet and private corner of our certified organic 220 acre farm where you will enjoy this restful area all to yourself. Our A-Frames overlook hay fields, pasture and woods. They have cozy bedding and open up so you can sleep under the stars. Have s’mores over the campfire, walk on our hiking trails, or take a farm tour to meet all the animals. Wake up to birds singing and go to bed finding constellations. (Please be aware that there is not electricity at The AFrames.) Our A-Frames give you all the fun of camping but with a cozy bed and shelter from the rain. There is an outhouse and outdoor solar heated shower and sink near the A-Frames as well as a picnic table and hammock. The gazebo has a camp stove, grill, and picnic table where you can enjoy your meals out of the weather and away from any bugs. You will have to provide your own drinking water and cooler to keep any of your food cold. There is a dirt road that leads you directly to the site where you can park your vehicle. Our farm is just 5-10 minutes from Potsdam and Canton. Our guests have access to the area around the A-Frames and to our hiking trails. If you’d like a farm tour to meet all the animals here, we would be happy to show you around. We live at the main house on the farm so are available to help with whatever you need. We live in a rural part of Northern New York but we enjoy being close to two college towns (Canton & Potsdam). There are many hiking trails around to enjoy as well as places to kayak and bike in the summer and cross country ski or snowshoe in the winter. Potsdam and Canton have a couple of great farm-to-table restaurants(Jakes and The 1844 House). You can’t beat Jernabi and Old Market Coffee(Potsdam) or Park Bros (Canton & Potsdam) for a good cup of coffee or tea with a baked goodie. A car would probably be best to get around and see the North Country. LFF is a working beef farm so we ask guests to stay away from all barns and machinery unless accompanied by Scott or Traci. Although most of our animals are friendly, their behavior can be unpredictable so having us introduce you to the animals on a farm tour is the best way to meet them. We enjoy sharing our hiking trails with our guests but please stay on the trails to avoid trespassing on our neighbors’ property and to avoid damage to the vegetation and woods along the paths.
