Mountain Hermitage Retreat

A perfect space for a quiet meditation retreat in this charming 550 square foot home set in the Pisgah National Forest next to Southern Dharma Retreat Center. At 3200 feet with mountain and forest views, you can let your spirit soar into the silence. The space My cabin is one of 8 cabins at The Practice Community at Southern Dharma, LLC. We use our cabins for private meditation retreats or just to enjoy the quiet and the beauty of being in the woods and the mountains. Guest access All 8 cabins are located along Dharma Path. Southern Dharma Retreat Center adjoins our property. My cabin has a parking space just below it and our community has a parking lot near the entrance to both Southern Dharma Retreat Center and The Practice Community. After unloading, please move your car to our parking lot which is 1/3 mile away. If there are no retreats in session during your stay, you can remain parked in my driveway. You can walk on the Dharma Path at anytime. It goes to the knoll that has benches and a hammock and a fantastic mountain view. You may also walk to The Buddha Garden that has a mountain stream, benches for sitting and meditating, and lots of shade loving perennials. When a retreat is in session be sure to honor the silence and do not speak to anyone in those areas or on Dharma Path . Most of the time they are in the meditation hall or the dorm for meals. Other things to note To get to my cabin you must drive about 2 miles on a one lane gravel road. There are places where you can pull off that are marked with reflective stakes. People who take workshops at Southern Dharma Retreat Center use this road as do a couple of neighbors. If you encounter another vehicle do not try to back up. Get out of your car and negotiate this maneuver with the other person.
