Let your unforgettable trip to The Canadian Galapagos begin with a stay at our conveniently located, comfortably appointed & well kept home in Masset. Over the short time since we've opened our home to guests, we have enjoyed hosting first time visitors, medical professionals on rural rotations, those returning for family celebrations and reunions, people who are investigating Masset as a possible relocation spot & fishermen/hunters for which this area is a mecca. The space The house, which retains most of its original feel from it’s days as Private Married Quarters for the Canadian Military is comfortable, well located in a family oriented cul-de-sac, yet just a few minutes walk to most stores and restaurants in town. It is furnished with our guests’ basic needs in mind.... minimalist yet with most of the amenities and conveniences of a full time home. The interior is bright and offers two bedrooms with comfortable queen beds. All beds have spare duvets for those cooler evenings and new 3 inch memory foam toppers. A fully outfitted kitchen should provide the needed essentials for most cooks, the living room has a comfy sofa and chairs to relax in and a large screen TV to enjoy when you have finished exploring for the day. Outside you will find a large picnic table and several seating choices with which to enjoy the sunlit backyard well past 9pm in the summer months. There is a small BBQ if needed, in the shed, but please ensure you use it well away from the shed, returning it inside cold and cleaned as you found it. We do provide a few larger pots in the kitchen that can be used on the ‘Q for cooking those lovely North Beach crabs or clams outside! A private driveway allows for at least one, possibly two vehicles to be parked off road but there is also plenty of street parking available. The back yard is fenced, but any small dogs who are given permission to stay MUST be supervised by their owner at all times while outside. ie. do not leave your animal alone to bark and disturb the neighbors and they also cannot be left alone inside the house for any amount of time or for any reason. This is a shared wall property and guests must respect that. OF NOTE: It is a 2 story, 1/2 duplex. All bedrooms are on the second floor with the laundry facilities in the basement, so this property is not suitable for anyone who cannot use stairs easily. To enable tight and faster turnarounds, early and late checkouts when possible for our guests, we provide access to only the bedroom to which our guests will sleep (if, for example, one couple books, after confirmation one bedroom is accessible). This minimizes water usage and wear and tear due to washing laundry on possibly never slept in beds that were open for guest usage (they always have to be washed between, used or not) and it allows us get our accommodations ready faster and earlier. Obviously, if more than two rent, both bedrooms are open. This is a case by case decision and always in discussion with guests. All registered guests will be asked to provide a digital copy of valid government ID. Failure to do so may result in cancellation of reservation. Guest access Our guests have the full run of the top and main floor. Basement access for laundry purposes only. Storage items in basement are not for guest usage. Thank you for using the allowed laundry space only. Other things to note **We request that guests wash & dry their own dishes prior to checkout. There is a dishwasher provided if needed - Do not leave dishwasher running unattended. **No need to remake beds before departure. We ask only that they strip linens from beds and place in laundry hamper near washing machine in basement, along with all used bath and kitchen towels. **A copy of the House Manual, along with pertinent information you may need during your stay, manager contact info, local emergency numbers, etc. will be found in a red folder in the living room. **A gentle reminder that any dogs that have been approved by property owner to be on the property are to be in control by their owner at all times outside and are never to be left alone for any amount of time or for any reason inside or outside on the property. **Any dogs given permission to stay on property must be cleaned up after, both inside and out. Any excessive cleaning inside or outside excretions needing to be picked up by cleaning staff will result in extra charges billed through ABB, amount depending on time involved and extent of cleaning after departure (minimum charges start at $50). **This is a shared wall property and respecting the neighbours are our first priority.
