Our renovated country home has all the modern amenities and comes with amazing pastoral 360° views. Laguna Lodge is located on the Laguna de Santa Rosa in the middle of the Russian River Valley AVA. The home is located 5 minutes from downtown Sebastopol and is surrounded by some great Sonoma wineries, cheese farms, and the Barlow - a 12 acre outdoor market district. The space There's nothing like waking up with a cup of coffee and seeing the morning wake-up ritual all around the 8 acre property. In the evening, enjoy a glass of wine on our deck and watch the sunset. Because we are surrounded by fields with cows and horses, it is very quiet. Our closest neighbor is 2 acres away and separated by fields. The 1000 sq. ft. house finished its remodel in 2009. Although it looks rustic from the outside, the interior has been completely modernized. We think this house is ideal for 1 to 3 people. Couples may find it challenging as the second bedroom is significantly smaller and has two twin beds (a daybed and a trundle bed). KITCHEN We're avid cooks and the open kitchen/living room make it that much more fun. The kitchen is fully stocked with all kinds of pots, pans, and appliances (air popcorn popper, rice maker, slow cooker, blender, waffle maker, sandwich grill, etc.). We have a drawer filled with a variety of teas for your selection. We also provide ground organic coffee and non-dairy creamer. BEDS Our master bedroom has a queen-sized bed with an ensuite bathroom and the second bedroom has a daybed/trundle bed that can pop up to two twin-size beds. The living room couch lays flat to become a full-size bed. SUNROOM Bring your yoga mat if you want to stretch out with pastoral views on all sides. There is a sauna and a rocking chair, perfect for some quiet reading in the sunroom. INTERNET/WIFI/MUSIC/TV As we are in a remote node in the countryside, we are limited to a max speed of 6 Mbps. Thank you for your understanding. Plug your smartphone or iPod to the wireless transmitter that streams your music to two portable Bluetooth enabled speakers that you can play inside the house or carry outside. We also have a wireless speaker box that you can take with you out on the deck. There is a DVD and VHS (I know, right?!) player. We provide a selection of DVD movies for you to choose from if you wish. HAIRDRYER There is one in each of the two bathrooms. Guest access The home is on a private 8 acre parcel of land. Other things to note Our home has its own well that provides water for the house. This water is rich in iron and minerals. This means that there will be water stains on glassware. We try and keep things spot-free but sometimes it does get the better of us ;) Our neighbor has a number of horses next to our property. Please do not feed them. There is an electric fence that separates the properties and it does work! A few weeks ago, some friends who lost their home during the Sonoma fires moved out. They had a little terrier stay with them at this house. Although we have done a thorough cleaning, we wanted to mention this in case any potential guests might have allergies to dog dander.
