Charming historic town located 30 minutes south of Denver and 10 minutes north of Colorado Springs. Great local restaurants in walking distance, plus several hiking trails within minutes. Lake and 18-hole disc golf course right below house at trailhead/park. The space **** Guest's must be able to climb stairs easily. Stairs must be climbed to enter house and get to bedrooms. **** Our mountain lake house in the quaint town of Palmer Lake offers quick access to several great amenities. Steps from the house give you access to the town park that includes a lake, sand volleyball, 18-hole disc golf course and a play ground. The lake is circled by the scenic Santa Fe Trail that continues for miles along the Front Range, offering beautiful views and amazing trails for running, walking and biking. If you're in town for a wedding, our home is within 5 minutes from Spruce Mountain Ranch and the Pine Crest Weddings & event center. We are also within 10 minutes from the Hearth House venue, offering a great retreat for your weekend filled with festivities. Palmer Lake is a family-friendly town with lots to offer! Just across from the lake, you can cross the beautiful bridge over the train tracks to access the historic town with brand new pickleball courts, more hiking trails, small shops and restaurants. *BEDROOMS Primary Suite (top level) - Queen bed with attached bathroom. Room darkening shades make it nice for mornings you'd like to sleep in. TV with Roku player to access your favorite streaming services. Walk-in shower with 2 shower heads, and double vanity. Full Bedroom (top level) - Next to the primary. Full bed with private deck overlooking back mountain side. Has small loft space above the closet, loved by kids offering a fun escape for reading or resting. Queen + Full Bedroom (bottom level) - One queen bed and one full bed with room darkening shades and attached bathroom that includes a tub. TV with Roku player to access your favorite streaming services. *TRAIN One of the charming things about Palmer Lake is that it is a historic railroad town. Trains continue to pass through daily, often bringing excitement for the kids! Since everyone has different sleep preferences, we’ve provided earplugs and fans in each room to help make your stay as comfortable as possible. * BATHROOMS Top level has a full bathroom attached to the primary bedroom with a double vanity and walk-in shower with two shower heads. Main/Middle level bathroom is a half-bath just off the kitchen. Lower level has a full bathroom attached to the bedroom with a bathtub. Both full bathrooms provide abundant amenities including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, hair dryers, Q-tips, and toothbrushes should you choose not to pack these things, or if you forget any essentials. * KITCHEN The kitchen (Main/middle level) - Fully stocked/equipped with essentials making it easy to cook-in as much as you'd like. We have a small grill outside that can be easily accessed through the laundry room, just off the kitchen. Enjoy the stocked coffee and tea bar offering your standard pot of coffee, a Keurig, or a French Press. Next to the kitchen sink we have an instant hot water faucet making it quick and easy to enjoy the French press or a cup of tea. * MAIN LIVING AREA Enjoy stunning mountain views from the main living area. Watch your favorite TV streaming services or enjoy provided board games and puzzles. There is a small office nook just off the living room and high-speed internet if you need to work during your stay. * LAUNDRY Guests have full access to the laundry room for use as needed during your stay. Detergent is provided. * OUTDOOR SPACE The deck off the main living room provides amazing mountain views. Enjoy the beautiful sunsets and if you happen to book the house over the 4th of July you will have the best view of the local firework show! (Fireworks depend on drought conditions each year and are not guarenteed). The backyard space backs up to a hillside that is steep. For best hiking and outdoor access the Lake park and Santa Fe Trail just below the house are your best options! The lake park just below the house often has fun activities throughout the year, like 5k races, a fishing derby, a 24 hour endurance race, a wine festival, and a seasonal farmers market.
