It is very clean and the water is refreshing with several water fountains, water slide, little slide, roped off lanes for swimming etc. You can see and show the family the waters on a kayak ride or teach them to catch a fish on a local pier! Peaceful with a long boardwalk part of it along Turkey Creek. Well managed and entrance is free. Ample parking and very friendly park staff. What a wonderful find! With three different trails (the boardwalk, the exercise trail, and the sandy trail) this is a beautiful place to visit. The park has a nice trail for a sunny day. Most of the trail is forested so there’s plenty of shade. Lots of turtles sunning in the creek. It’s pretty easy to tailor the trails for a walk as short as half an hour or as long as one and half hours. The Majestic Nature of the area is one you will soon not forget. Being able to collect shells, possibly see manatees, see dolphins, turtles, fish, and all kinds of different birds is such a great way to free your mind and enjoy life. It is a delight to walk through the open-space area, review the scale model of the river and learn much about the very view one enjoys from the verandah. Not very large, so plan on spending about 60 minutes total. The back area by the river is a great place to hang out and catch the river breezes.
