BREEZE, in a tree The Appleton Retreat
Description
BREEZE Treehouse, at The Appleton Retreat is located on 120 acres of private land, bordered by 1,300 acres of a protected nature conservancy. To the south is the Pettengill Stream a resource protected area and to the north a large secluded pond. BREEZE does not have a hot tub but guests may reserve the sauna, which is close by and private. The Appleton Retreat is less than a 30 minute drive to Belfast, Rockport, Camden and Rockland, charming downeast seaside towns. The space Total privacy, alone in a tree, the ultimate getaway. The 1st floor of BREEZE is over 20' high and the sleeping loft is approximately 40' off the ground. To gain access to BREEZE requires climbing three flights of stairs. Two are very easy and code compliant, the 3rd is a ships ladder - that is why dogs are Not Allowed. The sleeping loft is also accessed by a steep ships ladder. BREEZE is NOT a safe environment for young children. You will experience the uniqueness of being in a tree! Windowed walls overlook the treetops and a glimpse of the ridge to the south. There is a large deck for hanging out.... (CAUTION: In winds over 25 mph you may experience some movement and noise - not to worry!) Although BREEZE appears to be a rustic structure, it has many amenities including: Air Conditioning, a full galley kitchen; a shower and traditional toilet, as well as good old electricity........ so you will not be roughing it. BREEZE also has excellent WIFI There is private parking at the treehouse. Check out our other listings: www.airbnb.com/p/theappletonretreat We have a house lot currently for sale on Appleton Retreat Lane North. Message Peter if you are interested. Other things to note PLEASE BEWARE: Due to safety concerns dogs are not allowed at Breeze - Dogs are welcomed at the other Retreats. The pond.... OR IS IT A LAKE? There is a trail starting at Braeburn leading to Newbert Pond. It is approximately a 30 minute walk through a well defined forested trail on Nature Conservancy's 1,300 acre reserve. To the East is the Pettengill Stream which The Appleton Retreat property borders. It is a huge 40 mile aquifer. The stream, albeit not very wide is navigable by kayak, which we provide. (In the draught of 2020 it was NOT navigable in the summer months.) In wintertime cross country skiing is great.
