Other things to note Great for family get togethers - this is NOT a place to have a loud party! Both bedrooms are loft style and open to the living area below. Extra bedding and pillows for the pullout couch are located in the main bedroom closet. This is a log cabin and noise will travel between units. Be sure to follow the house rules - quiet time between 11pm - 7am. There is no cable tv but there are DVDs and a Roku to login to your Netflix, Disney, etc. The Gas fireplace, and wall heater are ready to go for the Winter 2025/2026 season! We also provide multiple space heaters to help heat. We recommend to have the ceiling fan on to best move air and heat. Occasionally, when too many electrical items are pugged in and running, in the dining room and kitchen, a breaker may flip. The breaker box is located next to the washer and dryer. Generator available to run a few things if the power goes out. We recommend running it from the garage with the door open for sufficient airflow, and running the provided extension cords through the deck door. We will always supply gasoline for the generator. If you find that it is empty please let us know! The local restaurant Molly Hogan's Pub operates seasonally but our home provides a fully equipped kitchen to prepare your favourite meals. Bring all groceries with you as there is not a grocery store on the mountain. There is a small convenience store on the mountain with limited items. You will be staying in a rural area, so it is important to be aware of the wildlife you may encounter. Be bear aware while you are out and don't leave doors open. Don't leave any food or beverage out that will attract uninvited guests. Once you turn onto Hemlock Valley Rd, the road is paved for about half of the climb and then turns to a gravel road - 4x4 is not a requirement but the Ministry of Transportation does mandate all vehicles must be carrying chains or traction devices during the winter season (Oct 1st - Apr 30th). Proceed with caution as there are windy corners along the way. During the winter months, the snow shedding from the roof can severely damage vehicles and can cause serious injury. We ask that you follow the parking diagram in the unit, and avoid letting kids play in the area.
