Great hiking (5-minute walk to Blue Hill Mountain trailhead), kayaking, swimming and biking. 1.5 miles to center of Blue Hill, with great restaurants, shops and galleries. With nearby hiking/XC ski trails, galleries, restaurants and Acadia National Park, this year-round barn apartment can be enjoyed in all seasons. With a queen-sized bed in each of the two bedrooms, the space is ideally suited for up to 4 guests, although we provide two high-quality iBED cots that can be set up in the living/dining room area. Kitchen is fully equipped for guests who like to cook or grill. Guests have full run of the upstairs apartment and backyard. Plenty of parking. I live in Blue Hill, about 2 miles away. The downstairs space currently contains my shop and an office. You'll occasionally see me puttering downstairs, so if you have any questions or need anything, please don't hesitate to ask. Apartment is located near the Blue Hill Fairgrounds, home of the Blue Hill Fair every Labor Day weekend. Chapters in E. B. White's "Charlotte's Web" were inspired by these Fairgrounds! Nearby trails up Blue Hill Mountain are very popular and offer panoramic views of Acadia all the way to the Camden Hills. Blue Hill Harbor (1.5 miles away) is tidal with a good boat launching area. Guests are encouraged to bring/rent kayaks if they want to enjoy scenery and wildlife in the protected harbor. Bangor International Airport and Concord Trailways are located about an hour from Blue Hill. Limited taxi service is available. There may be occasional activity in the downstairs space during the day, plus regular lawn- and plant-care.
