Historic log cabin Farmhouse in midst of Civil War Hallowed Grounds. Teaching Farm features Permaculture Gardens, Heritage breed cattle, poultry and our Farm Collies. Farm Fresh Fruit in each room. Close to Balt/Wash Metro, Harpers Ferry & Gettysburg The space Sycamore Spring Farm is a 340 year old working Farm. Originally a land grant homestead with a 1 room log cabin that was lived in while the larger 4room cabin was built. In 1907 the charming 4 room farmhouse was added by a well known builder of the time when he purchased the farm. It was around this same time all the outbuildings were built Guests will have access to a shared Full Bath, the common dining and kitchen area, farm grounds and gardens. Access to barns, animals and pastures with instruction. We've got Log Cabins, Bank Barn, Summer Kitchen and a Spring House with a pond. Beautiful Sycamore Trees rise up in the center of the pasture where goats and geese and English Shepherds live together in harmony. Our Permaculture Gardens bring back foods that the native Americans used to gather in the meadows and edges of woodlands. We have Poultry flocks and hen houses, garden sheds, Grape Arbors and greenhouses. We make our own soap, lotions and shampoo. Farmer Carol also offers bread making, pickling, canning, and soap making workshops.depending on your booking date(s). Guest access Guests will have access to a shared Full Bath, the common dining and kitchen area as well as porches and picnic areas. Rooms have cable Television and Hi-speed internet access. Access to farm grounds and gardens. Also barns, animals and pastures with instruction. During your stay Guests will have the opportunity to take a farm tour and to involve them selves in the normal routine of the farm which includes morning and evening chores, tending the gardens and greenhouse and meal preparation. There is normally a lot of customer interaction at the farm market on the weekends
