Rent my home for wedding guests, graduation ceremonies, Duke reunions, sports weekends, visiting scholars, conferences, holiday gatherings, festivals, or nice vacations. It's a cozy space that suits most large groups' needs and, as far as I can tell, it's a pretty unique find. The space There are five bedrooms. The upstairs master suite has a king, a very large multi-head shower "cavern," and a oversized jacuzzi tub. The downstairs master suite is more modest, with a queen-sized bed and its own bathroom. This space has two tones of soothing green and is perfect for older family members. The other rooms are upstairs. One has a firm queen-sized bed and plenty of afternoon light from its west- and north-facing windows. Another has both a full-sized bed suitable for two kids or one adult and a twin. The fifth room is used as an office but also has a king bed. There are three air mattresses to place where groups see fit. Just let me know beforehand, and I'll configure the space according to your needs. In addition, there is a couch in the living room and a futon in the kitchen overflow space. The current record number of overnight inhabitants is 15. If you're a tight-knit group, you can probably squeeze in more! Outside, you'll find fun, unconventional gardens (that's code for "landscaping by yours truly") and my occasional yard art project. The back yard is huge and can accommodate parking. Most of the yard is fenced in for privacy. I keep a reasonably stocked kitchen, and it has nice appliances. It's a chef's dream. Many guests spend most of their time there. This is an old neighborhood with tree-lined streets. The house is within a mile of campus and fine restaurants are a stone's throw away as well. You'll see neighbors walking up and down the street at any time of day. Durham is also the home to some neat microbreweries and a host of tasty food trucks. Oval Park is just down the street and it offers tennis courts and a sizeable kiddie play area. The house doesn't have functioning televisions or cable. But you're not coming to town to watch tv, right?! There's wireless internet and a built-in stereo system that spans three rooms and the spacious side porch. Fresh linens and towels are provided. Guest access Guest have access to all areas of the house, other than the basement. Please don't allow children down there.
