When we began construction of the A Frame we aimed to curate a luxury escape where you can transcend the monotony of the day to day. This fully custom A frame cabin was hand crafted from salvaged old growth timbers and hand milled lumber. Built to the highest quality and thoughtfully designed down to the smallest detail. We made sure to include high end luxury finishes throughout to make for a completely unique stay in our private 80 acre forest. @frommtimbercompany The space Your stay in the A Frame will begin with a short hike through the woods (about a 5 minute walk). You will be provided with a wagon to bring your things with you, but keep in mind that everything you bring must be packed out to the A Frame with you! Once you arrive, you will be greeted with a massive 600 lb safe door. You’ll find that the cabin is intimate yet the high ceilings and open floor plan of the main area make this the perfect escape amongst the vine maples and Douglas fir. You can find the bathroom and bedroom behind live edge, book matched swinging doors off of the hallway, with the bathroom boasting a roomy shower tucked into the corner. Absolutely every inch of the A Frame is handcrafted, from the rafters down to the cabinet pulls. The main area offers a perfect gathering space complete with a comfortable couch, a flat screen TV, a custom built table where you can share a meal, and a small yet functional kitchen including a stove top, an under counter fridge & freezer, microwave, and sink. My favorite space in the entire structure has to be the loft. As you climb the hand crafted ship’s ladder you will feel as though you are entering into a place of magic. The footboard is formed by a live edge piece of cedar that is under lit for the perfect amount of soft lighting in the evening. A king sized bed is nestled in between old growth rafters and a wall of glass that brings in gorgeous green filtered light as the sun rises in the mornings. To complement the A Frame we have constructed a matching wood burning sauna, entirely hand crafted from a single cedar tree that was blown down during a storm less than a mile away. The sauna features a massive window that looks out into the woods without a neighboring house to be seen. Whether you are curled up on the couch with a good book and a cup of tea, enjoying a session in the sauna, or you’re exploring miles of trail weaving between mammoth ferns and moss covered old growth stumps, we hope to provide you with the ultimate escape. Guest access You will access our lower driveway, 80 acres of private forest, and the A Frame. We live on an attached 5 acre parcel that guests will not have access to. Other things to note You will need to carry everything you would like to have with you out to the A Frame. As I mentioned earlier, we will provide a wheeled wagon to bring things out with you. The walk is about 400 yards through the woods and takes about 5 minutes. The path is made of wood chips and there are a few small hills, fancy shoes are not recommended. The walk will be lit in the dark. The doors to the bathroom and downstairs bedroom are live edge saloon style doors that have small gaps between them when closed. Keep this in mind as this could be a privacy issue for some!
