Come fish, hunt, fly fish the Ausable river, head off road to the many ORV and Snowmobile trails, or just relax on the water on our Paddleboards, kayaks, and a canoe that are available for use. However, we had issues connecting to the wifi which was frustrating as many of us did not have cell reception and the TVs required wifi. John had someone reset the router and we didn’t have any issues after that. We rented the pontoon during our stay and had a great time on the water. Prior to using the boat, we did have to throw away a few empty beer cans and fill it up with gas. John provided a gas can for this purpose, however there was only a small amount of gas in the can. We did notice some dust and cobwebs on the ceiling fan above one of the queen beds. During our stay we utilized the grill and had plenty of propane. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed for all of our meals. Our group really enjoyed the pool table. Beautiful lake/area. It should be known though that privacy is a minimum at this location. The hosts property/gathering area for their family/friends are within feet of the beach/play area for the kids. Shared driveway. Pleasant people but was not expecting that from the pictures. As this was a family vacation with 8 adults and 5 children, it was a little off-putting to have other people walking around/hanging out and/or drinking around our children. I was told there was going to be a big party, which would have been directly in our space and I made it known we were not comfortable with that with the kids, and he made accommodations to move his party. Hot tub needed to be drained. Empty beer can (not ours) by our hot tub one morning that was supposedly not shared. His friends used kayaks, again supposedly not shared. No water trampoline. Boat was filthy/empty alcohol on it. We had 8 adults and 4 little kids and we fit comfortably in the house. Beds were comfy and everything was very clean. So much to do with the hot tub, pool table, fire pit and playscape for the little kids. We explored a bunch of the local beaches, higgins was our favorite. The hosts live right next door and were super helpful and responsive. We felt right at home and very comfortable. The property and the lake are absolutely gorgeous. We pontooned, kayaked, played pool and basketball and enjoyed the hot tub and sauna. I appreciated how welcoming John and Joan were, and how pet friendly the house and property is. It was wonderful to unplug and slow down for a bit in this peaceful location. We would love to visit again. We had a great time!
