Snow plowing on neighborhood roads is provided by local vendors and intermittent. Cottonwood Lodging does not have control over snow plowing. Please plan to check in by 8pm to avoid unplowed roads if it is storming and note that this home can accommodate ONLY 2 vehicles parked in area close to road. Winter Guided Arrival: - At the request of the neighborhood to ensure that no one gets stuck or lost and disturbs the locals, a staff member will meet you on the main road and guide you to your property. Please plan to check in by 8pm to avoid unplowed roads if it is storming. Please do not arrive on your own even if you have stayed with us before. This keeps a positive relationship with the neighbors who appreciate it. Minutes from the thrills of mountain adventures, this idyllic rustic mountain retreat is tucked among towering pines offering solace, comfort, charm, and tranquility, making it the perfect haven for your year-round getaways. With four bedrooms and 6 beds, there’s ample space for your family and friends to unwind in the essence of nature. 2.5 bathrooms ensure that everyone has their own space to relax and rejuvenate. The ambiance of the forest outside is brought inside the cabin with its cedar wainscoting, log beds (1 king 4-poster, 3 queens), and adorable bear lamps. Two twin beds are also available, for a total of 10 people to sleep comfortably. Tucked away in the embrace of towering pines, and just behind a wooded knoll, you’ll feel like you stepped into a cabin on the edge of a forever forest, cradled in a natural wonderland. Experience the utmost in seclusion and privacy. You’ll feel like you’re in your own mountain hideaway, far from the hustle and bustle of city life. Despite its secluded ambiance and location, the cabin remains conveniently close to the ski action. It's just a short 15-minute walk to the ticketing window of Brighton Ski Resort, or a quick 7-minute stroll to the shuttle pickup, providing easy access to the slopes without having to worry about parking. In the summer, the cabin provides quick access to the stunning hiking trails around Silver Lake and Brighton. Explore the serene beauty of the area, including 6 nearby lakes, returning to your private mountain sanctuary at the end of the day. For a change of scenery, Solitude Mountain Resort is a short 5-minute drive away, offering additional outdoor summer activities like disc golf and mountain biking trails. Too tired to cook after a day of cutting trails in the fresh powder or hiking the pristine mountains? Stop by Solitude’s Stone Haus Pizzeria and Creamery to refuel with hot pizza, fresh salads, tasty sandwiches, and ice cream. Nordic skiing and snowshoeing enthusiasts will appreciate the proximity to the Nordic Center, ensuring a tranquil escape into the backcountry. The center is just a few minutes walk from your front door! Our cabin offers not only a gateway to adventure but also a retreat into nature's serenity. We are available nearby when needed, always just a text or call away. Brighton Resort is at the top of Big Cottonwood Canyon and averages 500 inches of fluffy Utah powder per winter! Besides the slopes, there is also a local bar, a couple of restaurants, and a general store nearby. Solitude's Nordic Center is also located at Brighton right on Silver Lake. Enjoy hikes in the summer, and cross-country skiing in winter! Winter stays: If you plan to drive yourself, please bring a 4wd/awd vehicle with snow tires (NOT M+S or all-season), chains, or snow socks. If you plan to schedule a ride, please be aware that Uber/Lyft is not readily available once you're in the canyon. We recommend Canyon Transport or Utah Mountain Shuttle for this. If you plan to depend on public transportation, please search for the UTA Ski Bus. Our Canyon is on route 972. Service and stops are limited. WINTER STAYS: You need 4wd/awd and snow tires, chains, or snow socks to make it on the road to the home. To get out of the neighborhood, you have to make it over a small hill. Please come prepared for our snowy environment!
