Recoleta is one of the premier neighbourhoods in Buenos Aires with beautiful architecture, parks, restaurants, cafes and shopping. Step out the door and any way you go puts you within easy walking distance of Recoleta's major attractions including: The beautiful Plaza Vicente Lopez park where you can stroll, people watch and take a coffee from one of the many coffee houses across from the park including Cafe Martinez and Nucha (a lovely patisserie). In close proximity to the park are numerous restaurants including the famous Los Inmortales home of some of the best pizza and empanadas in Buenos Aires, where you can also savour local dishes and mingle with the locals. The Recoleta Cemetery is a few short blocks from the apartment. Get lost wandering this unique cemetery and take a stroll through the history of this wonderful, unique city and country. Across the park from the cemetery enjoy coffee and a snack (or lunch) at La Biela - a large and beautiful outdoor cafe directly in the shade of a centuries-old “gum” tree. Located directly beside La Biela is a Tourist Booth that can answer any tourist related questions you may have. Also close to the cemetery is the Buenos Aires Design Centre, where you can window shop (or buy) at the Centre’s high-end furniture stores or the Recoleta Cinema and Mall - an enclosed shopping centre where you can pick up pretty well anything you may need. On the weekend, there is a large outdoor “flea” market, next to the Design Centre, where local artisans ply their goods at numerous stalls. A favourite topic for anyone travelling is, of course, eating. Within a few blocks of the apartment are two major supermarkets - Disco and Carrefour where you can buy mostly anything you need to cook at home from breakfast, lunch and dinner. For your convenience the apartment has a grocery cart or, for larger purchases, delivery can be arranged for a nominal fee at the grocery store. For those afternoons or evenings out, the area has some of the best restaurants in Buenos Aires. Close to home are El Mirasol and Piegari, two higher-end restaurants located nearby in La Recova. El Mirasol specializes in Argentine beef and Piegari has excellent pasta. Of course, most restaurants have an extensive wine list where you can either discover or re-confirm why Argentine wine is some of the best in the world. Less expensive, but wonderful local area restaurants include Rodi, Los Inmortales, Los Maestros, Josephina’s Cafe, El Fundador or Scuzzi. Additionally, almost every block has “confiterias/cafes” where you can eat great food at a reasonable price. The Recoleta neighbourhood is ideal for walking - everything is in such close proximity. It is also centrally located and within easy driving/taxi distance to other great neighbourhoods like Palermo, Palermo Soho, Puerto Madero, San Telmo…. Recoleta neighborhood is made for walking. However, there are taxis, bus services and the subway within close proximity. For stays of more than seven days, a complimentary cleaning is provided once per week.
