Roan Vista Cottage: Hiker's Paradise

Relax with the whole family at this peaceful cottage. Located just minutes away from the best hikes in the area, including Appalachian Trail, Carver's Gap, and Rhododendron Gardens. This cottage features three bedrooms and spacious decks. The cottage is located near the entrance to the Roan Mountain State Park, Jarrett's Apple Orchard, and historic Miller Farmstead. Watauga Lake, NC border, ski resorts, golf, and Grandfather Mountain are also nearby. The space The property features three bedrooms and can accommodate up to 6 guests. Please, note that the living room couch is not convertible. There are two full bathrooms (one upstairs and one downstairs) and a fully stocked kitchenette. There is a game room with a foosball table, chess table, and board games. There is also a pool table, corn hole game, and mini golf game located in the garage. Plenty activities to do on a rainy day. Large covered porch offers comfortable furniture and cool breeze in summer. The property has an outdoor charcoal grill that can double up as a fire pit. Free Wi-Fi/internet, Netflix and internet TV are provided. Public tennis court, basketball, and volleyball are within 5 miles away; tennis rackets can be found in the game room. Guest access You can enjoy the entire house for yourself. Garage is currently not used for parking but is accessible for pool table and corn hole games. The house is easily accessed off Hwy 143. The gravel driveway is not very steep and can be accessed with any type of vehicle, except during winter due to the possibility of snow. If traveling in winter, we do recommend a 4x4 or all wheel drive vehicle. Other things to note The property is non-smoking but there is a designated smoking area outside by the garage with a cigarette bud receptacle if needed. There is a water fountain feature accessible off the back deck and can be operated by an electric plug. We ask that guests do not leave the fountain unattended and only operate it while using the back deck. If left unattended, water may get absorbed by the soil and the pump will run dry, which will cause damage. Free starter toiletries, coffee samples, bed sheets/blankets, and enough towels for up to 6 guests are provided. Plan to bring extra coffee and toiletries if staying for more than 2 nights or have a larger party.
