Castle in the woods

Up a quiet mountain road, through the gate emblazoned with a dragon; across a bridge over the crystal Clear Creek filled with granite boulders, up a steep driveway there exists a castle. The space The castle is 4,400 square feet of block and brick. Inside you'll find beautiful oak paneling, Italian marble, polished concrete and other unique details. Through the heavy oak front door, you'll step into the turret entry. To your right, the curving staircase leads up to the second floor bedrooms (all with en-suite bathrooms), accented by the dragon tail railing. Ahead through a concrete archway you'll be at a crossroads between the dining room, great room, and den/office. Where you go next is up to you! The library overlooking the great room? The family room adjacent to the kitchen? Or outdoors to explore the woods? Guest access You will have access to explore the entire home and most of the property. Other things to note The castle is located 30 minutes west of Redding, CA; 5 miles up a narrow (paved) mountain road. There is a general store/cafe-bar about 15 minutes away, otherwise we suggest bringing food along and utilizing the well appointed kitchen. We have an excellent stereo in the Great Room and Family Rooms with the ability to wirelessly stream music to both (Chromecast Audio). There is WiFi throughout the castle which is connected to fixed wireless internet. There is no cell coverage at the castle, (Sprint/Verizon is nearby) but there is a house phone with free nationwide calling. There is no air-conditioning. The heat is managed with a whole house fan, opening windows at night and keeping them closed during the day. Following our instructions will keep the castle comfortable during your stay.
