Cozy Cabin with fireplace, hot tub & hiking trails
Our original log cabin with private pool, hot tub and gardens provides the perfect get away! Located on Quaker Hill right next to a retreat center, you’ll have access to trails leading to a beautiful waterfall. The Historic Downtown and Depot Districts are both just a mile away or you can visit Earlham College or explore the Antique Alley nearby. The space Our cabin is a rustic, original timber home located on the grounds of our estate, which is gated and quite secluded. The estate includes our personal home, a guest cottage, and the log cabin. Each of these buildings has their own space, however. The cabin, for instance, is surrounded by a tall fence which is covered in greenery. The cabin serves as a pool house and the use of the pool and hot tub (which are also inside the fence) are exclusively for the guests of the cabin. There is a pavilion area with outdoor furniture by Restoration Hardware adjacent to the pool. The gardens are located right next to the cabin are also private & exclusively for the use of cabin guests. The gardens include a picnic table and a daybed for curling up with a good book, and the heated pool and relaxing hot tub are a hit with both the parents and kids! Pool and hot tub use are reserved exclusively for you. There is a kitchenette (mini stove top only-no oven; microwave & small fridge) with very minimal cooking supplies due to the lack of storage; log fireplace (firewood is not provided, but kindling can be gathered behind the cabin); two twin beds in the loft; a queen sized canopy bed; and a couch. Guest access Guests have exclusive use of the private, heated pool (open from Memorial Day to October 1). As well as the hot tub (open year round). Also the garden is located right next to the cabin. Each of these amenities will be available exclusively to guests. Other things to note There is only ONE parking spot available to guests. If you need additional off site parking please contact us for details. No smoking anywhere on the property (even outside of the cabin.) No guests/no visitors are allowed at the cabin. Only the 1-4 guests that are booked are allowed to swim/hang out/be at the cabin. The pool is cleaned once a week by a professional who has to enter the cabin to access the pump room. We never know what day he will come, but it’s typically a weekday during business hours. There is a mini-Weber grill available for use (please note that this is not a full size grill). No food deliveries (pizza, Grub Hub, Door Dash, etc.) Our cabin is an original, authentic log cabin and, therefore, critters do get inside from time to time. We try our best to keep them out, but there is only so much we can do in keeping the original integrity of the building. If critters (bugs, mice, bats, bees, etc.) are a concern for you, we advise you not to book. Again, it is rare that we have to address this, but every now & then we do! To get to the waterfall and Springwood Park, take the foot gate (on the west side of the fence) and walk southwest to the wooded area. Continue walking with the woods on your left until you come to the trailhead (you'll pass an amphitheater on your left). Follow the trail until it opens up to a gravel road/trail-go right on the trail until you see the waterfall on your left. Springwood Park is right across the road from the waterfall. Fishing, horse trails, volleyball courts, basketball courts, and a playground are available at the park.
