Description

Three-bedroom apartment w/ open floor plan, pretty crown moldings & has a 'nature vibe' throughout. Apartment is 1 mile from Yale University, Yale-New Haven Hospital, & Southern CT University. Albertus Magnus College is across the street; this makes the neighborhood safer & more picturesque. City bus stops right in front of apartment. Yale shuttle is a few blocks away. Free, close & safe parking. Independent grad students share common spaces. Fans & window A/C available during summer! The space Apartment has a Cocker Spaniel dog on premises. She is not a barker and is not aggressive; however, she is a true foodie and loves belly rubs! Dog-friendly guests only, please. Also, *please* don't feed her human food. She has a medical condition that is well-managed through a healthy doggie-diet. The apartment is regularly cleaned, but dog hair is pretty inevitable. If you are bringing a dog and/or want to enjoy a BBQ, there is a huge back yard that is about 1 acre in size. It is covered by trees and therefore is shady cool and vibrantly green. The bedroom has a Queen bed, overstuffed chair, nightstand, working desk chest of drawers, lamps, Comcast wifi, some Venetian-themed art on the walls, has a sufficient a/c window unit with fans available if desired, and looks out at the huge green back yard. The common space is simple but clean. You are welcome to cook, use the fridge, and store food in the cupboards. We will not touch your foods. If you are needing food, please speak up. Again, we are low-key and pretty flexible, but appreciate clear communication and common courtesy. There is a printer out in the common area. There is a new 40 inch Samsung HDTV to use. I have Hulu but have recently been turned off from Netflix. There are other apps on the TV, too. Please don't drink our alcohol. There is a 'package store,' as locals call them, 2-3 blocks away where you can buy wine, bear, and hard spirits, if desired. There are grocery stores about 1 mile away. Public transit is available to these locations. Instacart, Shipt and more deliver to this address. Guest access Bedroom, Kitchen, Dining Area, Living Area, Bathroom, Backyard with Patio, Designated Parking During your stay Primary host, Holly, is a grad student that also works in out-patient mental health. Due to COVID-19, I rarely go into mental health clinics. I call Portland, Oregon home, was recently in Virginia and Texas, and can be social or give you space. I am happy to help you navigate New Haven and/or the commute into NYC and/or Boston. Second host, Alvin, is from Ghana and is a grad student studying Graphic Design. He has a good pulse on the Art Studios around New Haven and NYC. He is independent but nice; he is also not taking summer classes so he has more flexibility to chat! Other things to note I can provide you some 'grab and go' items for breakfasts, and can provide eggs, butter, and bread if you want to cook those items for breakfast. I can also provide you local bus passes, if you would like. Please do not bring weed into my house. The smell of it makes me sick. You are welcome to smoke in the back yard and please feel free to leave such items in your car.
