The Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica's "little Amazon" and Matapalo, its costal edge where our houses are located, are some of the last, unspoiled regions in Costa Rica, if not the planet. If your dates aren't available here, see our other three houses: Casa Linda, Casa Bambu and Casa Sonrisa. Visitors repeatedly say that Casa Pina and our other bamboo houses are exceptional, and have made it a Travelers Choice Winner 11 xs on TripAdvisor for 10 years running among TripAdvisor’s top 1% of hotels for families in all Costa Rica and Central America. Located on four acres in the midst of the rainforest, this off grid, bamboo house is right on beautiful Playa Pan Dulce, the area's premier beach and an easy walk to several others. Guests have compared it to having your own private nature preserve, as it is situated in the midst of wildlife coming and going. It is remote and secluded, yet not isolated; comfortable yet unspoiled. It lets you: experience the true Costa Rica, one of the most amazing areas on earth; relax on the beach; surf uncrowded waves; commune with monkeys; and enjoy countless natural wonders. All while staying secure and comfortable. At Casa Pina the ocean waves lull you to sleep and the roar of the howler monkeys awaken you to a glorious sunrise over the Golfo Dulce (Sweet Gulf). A gorgeous, pristine beach is a short stroll across the property, and the rainforest and wildlife are all around. If you love nature in all its wild beauty, you'll love Casa Pina. The house itself is a simple, yet comfortable handcrafted bamboo dwelling with its own private yard. The view looks out on the magnificent Golfo Dulce. From your porch watch scarlet macaw fly by and monkeys swing past in the trees. Or venture out to marvelous waterfalls, deep-sea waters, rainforest trails and more breathtaking scenery and unspoiled sand and surf. Casa Pina is surrounded by a tropical paradise of fragrant, flowering plants like ginger, halyconia, and hibiscus; and fruit trees, with delicious succulent mango, lime, breadfruit, pineapple, papaya and banana there for the picking (depending on the season). This off-grid house is handcrafted by owner Kirk, who leaves no detail overlooked. The house offers: •A fully-equipped kitchen with large solar refrigerator, blender, coffee maker; pure artesian well water; stove/oven; and hardwood shelves, counters and island. •This flows into an ample dining area with handcrafted hardwood table and chairs for spacious dining. •There is a living area/porch that affords great wildlife viewing and a view of the water;. •Three bedrooms with hand-crafted, queen sized, four-poster beds with excellent mattresses (plus extra beds), custom fitted netting, bed fans and reading lights; •Two full bathrooms with hot water shower. • Outdoor shower; • Ceiling and house fans; • Wifi on property; • 3G phone connection; • 110-volt outlets for charging electronics (no adaptors needed); • Local hardwood floors; • Linens and bath towels; • On site caretaker / manager and staff; • Cooking services available; Daily housekeeping • Guided tours of area and Corcovado Park available; • Laundry service available; • Safe for valuables, plus house alarm system; • Outdoor barbecue; • Hammocks; • Boogie boards; • Kayaks with life preservers; • Beach chairs (no beach towels); • Delicious artesian well water; • Fabulous Ocean views All guests have shared access to: Rainforest guide, exclusive to Casa Bambu; cooking services by our staff of well-loved chefs; 4g LTE wifi connection; 4G phone connection; kayaks; boogie boards; beach chairs; beach and surrounding forest; hiking trails; pre-trip support and tour arrangement from owner. Our guests love them and so do we! Throughout your stay William is available for hire to take you on rainforest hikes and help you spot local wildlife, as well as serve as your guide to Corcovado Park. (See our Local Tours page for details). If we are not there, William will also help you with logistics and anything else you might need. He is most resourceful! The Osa Peninsula, Costa Rica's "little Amazon" and Matapalo, its costal edge where our houses are located, are some of the last, unspoiled regions in Costa Rica, if not the planet. The Osa harbors a diversity of habitats and species unheard of elsewhere for an area of its size (less than half of Rhode Island). Between two to three percent of the flora of the Osa exists nowhere else on earth. It contains 13 major ecosystems, including rainforests, lowland forests, cloud forests, mangrove and freshwater swamps, lagoons, beaches, and coral reefs. Jacques Cousteau called its magnificent Golfo Dulce (sweet gulf) the most pristine of the world's four tropical fjords. Home to vast Corcovado National Park, known as the "crown jewel" of Costa Rica, the area (including our neighborhood) is teeming with life. We are located in a premier spot, close to are good restaurants, fun tours, yoga classes and gorgeous hikes. You can rent a car (we will help you arrange this) but you don't need one if you don't mind walking around and taking taxis when needed. We use only the most reliable drivers with the newest and most comfortable taxis. We will arrange any transport you need, including having a taxi meet your arrival flight and take you to your departure. There is also public transport twice a day to Puerto Jimenez. Parking is included. The Osa Peninsula is practically a Covid-free zone. There have been very few incidences of the virus in our area throughout the pandemic. The Osa is so sparsely populated that “social distancing” is the norm. And there is plenty of pure air and warm sunshine, which viruses hate. We have a NO RISK booking policy: if you reserve and are unable to come due to Covid-19 restrictions, there will be no cancellation fees and you will be issued a full travel credit for a future trip.
