To keep things cool, the studio is equipped with air conditioning. Electricity usage is measured by a separate meter and charged according to the local energy rate. The meter is visible at all times, so you can easily monitor your own consumption. Fresh towels and bed linens are provided once a week to ensure your comfort throughout your stay. Outside, you'll find a private covered terrace with a table and two chairs – perfect for relaxing. A cozy hammock is also installed under the roof, inviting you to unwind in the shade. The beautiful shared pool is just a few meters away. A washing machine is available for use at a small additional fee. Upon arrival, you’ll find essentials such as trash bags, soap, and toilet paper provided. Please note that these items need to be replenished by guests as needed during their stay. Guest access Casa is located in a quiet area near the beach in the charming town of Sámara — ideal for those seeking relaxation while still being close to everything. 🚶‍♀️ Everything within walking distance: 🏖 Beach & Intercultura Language School – 800 m (approx. 11-minute walk) 💆‍♀️ Massage School – 650 m (approx. 9-minute walk) 🏦 Bank & ATM – 600 m (approx. 8-minute walk) 🛒 Supermarket – 450 m (approx. 6-minute walk) 🥬 Saturday Farmers Market – 1.1 km (approx. 16-minute walk) On your way to the town center, you’ll pass several supermarkets, fruit and vegetable shops, bike rentals, and local restaurants. A car is not necessary – everything you need is within easy walking distance. 🚲 Getting around – no car needed: For longer stays, renting a bicycle is a great option. At low tide, you can even ride along the beach – a fun and scenic experience! 🚗 Parking: 3 on-site parking spots available Additional street parking right in front of the property Other things to note 🇬🇧 Welcome to Casa Bonita Your tropical home away from home – where peace and Pura Vida go hand in hand. 🌬️ Air Conditioning – Electricity Usage & Billing The use of the air conditioning is billed based on actual consumption. We charge ₡140 per kilowatt-hour (kWh) – this is the standard local rate for larger rental properties, like Casas Bonita. Transparency matters: The electricity meters are always accessible to guests, so you can track your usage at any time. There are no surprises when it comes to billing. Why we can't tell you "how much per hour": Electricity consumption depends on many individual factors: the outside temperature how cool you want the room to be whether doors and windows are kept closed the duration and intensity of use even the specific settings on the AC unit Because these factors vary from guest to guest, it’s simply not possible to give a general estimate like “X colones per hour.” Our approach: You only pay for what you actually use – fair, transparent, and easy to check. 🧺 Towels & Cleaning Please bring your own beach towels. Towels for indoor use are provided but must not be taken to the pool or beach. We offer weekly cleaning (bathroom & floor) and linen/towel change for your comfort. 🏖️ Pool & Outdoor Areas The pool is exclusively for Casa Bonita guests. The property is adults-only for a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Please use the outdoor shower to rinse off sand before entering the studio or pool – sand can seriously clog our pipes! 🚽 Toilets & Plumbing Costa Rica’s plumbing is delicate. Please dispose of toilet paper in the waste bin provided – not in the toilet. Clogs caused by paper or sand will incur a US$ 120 cleaning fee charged to the guest. 🔑 Lost Keys A replacement fee of US$ 120 applies if keys are lost. 🚭 No Smoking Policy Smoking is strictly prohibited in all CasasBonita properties – including inside, on balconies, and terraces. Violation will result in a deep cleaning charge of US$ 500 for mattresses, curtains, cushions, and walls. 🧘‍♀️ Respect the Space Please treat the studio as if it were your own home – with care and mindfulness. This way, the next guest can enjoy the same clean and cozy experience. 🌐💧⚡ Internet, Water & Power – Island Life, Jungle Style 📶 Internet Wi-Fi usually works well, but it’s not always reliable. If you require stable internet, we recommend Locoworking – a coworking space with multiple providers and great speed. 💧 Water Outages Occasional water cuts may happen due to pipe repairs. When water returns, it can be muddy or cloudy at first – just let it run for a bit and it clears up. ⚡ Power Outages Sometimes a jungle giant (tree!) takes down a power line – and the lights go out. But don’t worry – everything comes back, eventually. Remember: You’re in Costa Rica – the land of Pura Vida! Sit back, relax, and enjoy the nature around you.
