A large, lovely house on the road to the lake, our home is private and surrounded by trees, with an elevated screened porch near the 16 hole of the Whiteface Club ideal for sipping morning coffee in the sunshine. With sleeping space for up to 10 people, it can accommodate multiple families comfortably. Each of its four bedrooms has its own bathroom. The sitting room, living room, basement, kitchen and screened porches provide ample space to relax, unwind and socialize. Rental Permit: STR-200391 The screened-in front porch and the kitchen are tied as our two most favorite spots in the home. The early morning sun peaks through to the porch and will warm you up as you sip your coffee and start your day! The kitchen is a great place for cooking, congregating and socializing. It is fully stocked with everything you need for cooking and dining. The master bedroom and bath is on the first floor, which can be helpful for guests for whom stairs are difficult. Additionally, there is ramp access through the garage although there is a half-step once inside. The garage can accommodate two cars with additional parking for up to three cars in the driveway. The basement is very large and includes a bathroom with shower, a queen bed, and two futons. There is a gas grill on the porch near the kitchen. All bedding and towels are provided, as are amenities such as soap, shampoo and hairdryers. Please take your time to carefully read these additional specs about the home before you book to make sure you have a pleasant stay and avoid any inconvenience: - There is no air conditioning in the home. There is hardly ever a need for it, as opening the windows and turning on fans adequately circulates the air quickly. The sunnier days in Lake Placid can be warm, but in the evenings, the temperature tends to drop for a cool night's sleep. - The interior of the home is 100% non-smoking. Smoking on the exterior, including the porches, is permissible as long as you discard of your waste in the designated places or the trash. - Any person (renter, approved guests, affiliate of renter and/or guest) who negligently or intentionally causes damage to the interior or exterior property or to any furnishings, shall be fully liable for all damages sustained. Within a 1 mile radius you have access to the Whiteface Club golf course, hiking on the Jack Rabbit trail, cocktails at Maggie's in the Lake Placid Lodge, a gym, an ice-cream shop, cross-country ski trails, miniature golf, a wine shop, a great restaurant, two grocery stores and the Lake Placid Center for the Arts. We are just 2 miles from main street. You'll generally want to have a car to get around the area. However, a 20 minute walk will bring you to local shops as well as a town bus stop.
