Ideal for Home Office, creative work or inner reconnection/relax & recharge//chic&sustainable vibe The space Amatlán is a small village nestled in the Chichinautzin mountains; the traces of its history can be felt in the ancient mountain trails—which its inhabitants cherish and care for—in the stone fences, and in the night that falls gently, filled with the sounds of nature. The guest space offers an unparalleled view and has been thoughtfully curated and designed to welcome you with a magical atmosphere and attention to detail. The landscape you see from the terrace transforms with each season: it can be a jungle bursting with greenery and vibrant flowers, and then a field dotted with ochre-colored seeds. For your exclusive use (not shared with other guests or hosts): Covered terrace + natural garden spanning over 1,000 m² Work desk / high-speed internet powered by solar panels to ensure uninterrupted service Bathroom with premium amenities Fully equipped open kitchen Campfire area in a 1,000 m² natural garden Share the front garden and an eco-friendly saltwater pool (4 m in diameter) with the hosts: a rare little gem in the area, where water is a precious resource. The pool is unheated. Parking included. Getting here is easy: by car or public transportation (8 km from Tepoz, 15–20 min). In Amatlán, everything is within walking distance. There are delicious, charming, and affordable dining options. Other highlights Options include in-home massages, sound healing, yoga classes, mountain hikes, and temazcal experiences in the area, among others. Rainy season (Jun–Sep): rivers, waterfalls, and crystal-clear pools. The garden takes on a jungle-like feel, with sporadic storms that may cause power outages (but not the internet, which runs on solar panels). Dry season (Jan–May): Everything turns ochre and there are magical sunsets; we conserve collected rainwater and protect biodiversity. At this time of year, we avoid campfires due to the risk of fire. ->We leave everything spotless before your arrival, but keep in mind that we live in the mountains: you may come across a bug, hear a rooster crow, distant barking, or church bells. It’s part of the magic of living in a Mexican village. Locals ask that, if you hike up the mountain, you do so with a guide from the community. Local restaurants only accept cash. Reliable internet: modem connected to solar panels, very good speed. During rainstorms, there may be power outages (common in the area), but the internet generally remains stable. Important note: In Amatlán and some areas of Tepoz, there is no cell service or 4G. Come prepared to disconnect from the digital noise… and reconnect with yourself. Other things to note During rainy season june- sept there are nearby waterfalls and crystalline ponds. During dry season (basically, the rest of the year) everything turns ocher; we care for the water that is collected from the rain and natural bio-diversity. We do not have an artificially watered green garden. Amatlan's locals ask us to hike in the mountain only with a local guide. Restaurants here only take cash. There are options for massage and temazcal in the area. At home, we have solar panels connected to the modem so that we can always count on internet; we also have good wifi speed. Because we are in the middle of the mountains, sometimes electricity tends to fail temporarily during rainy season. You can get here in public transportation or by private car. In dry season (jan-may) please avoid firepitts, terrible fires may happen. In rainy season (june-sep) the place transforms into a jungle and there are thunderstorms (june-sept). In Amatlan and in some parts of Tepoz, there is no 4G internet.
